University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
I am talking about the waitlist for applicants for fall 2009. If you are an applicant for fall 2010, it takes months to hear from UofM.

I have always been told by nursing instructors to always put every little traffic offense down and tell what happened, what you did and why it will not happen again.

Starting pre-reqs at JCC in a few days...nervous
Who are your instructors for your classes? JCC has a very high rated nursing programs. Be ready to work very hard in the program. Are you going for the RN or LPN? Med terminology is not to bad but it is a lot of work.

WSU second career program Interviews
I have Micro and I have Organic Bio chem. They will take them. I do not have intro to biology and they did not take my intro to chem. My husband will not let me take the classes just for Wayne State. He is paying for the classes so I will not take a low level class when I have taken higher level classes that go over a great deal of the same material the lower level classes. Michigan and Michigan State does not require intro to chem or intro to biology. The out of state program I am looking at does not as well. Out of state education and jobs looks like the way I am going.

WSU second career program Interviews
Because Wayne State wanted intro to biology and intro chemistry, which mine they do not take. I have micro and organic bio chem. It looks like I will not be interviewing. Also I need to pay my application fee, but if I need intro classes then, I am just going to forget Wayne State. I do not need the classes for any other colleges second career program. Also My husband will not support me taking lower level classes that I have taken advanced classes and done very well. It looks like I am going to apply out of state.

Apply early. You have to fill out a time line for completing your classes. Early is better. Work on improving your GPA and keep volunteering and you should be set. Good luck.

I would take Wayne State over the others. They want classes other programs do not want. I have heard Wayne State is the best.

University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
Welcome Dave 48103, U of M now has a rolling admission so the dead line will be Feb. 2010. I take it most of the ones that were admitted this time were 20 somethings who just were finishing a first BA degree. Many who apply do take there classes at Washtenaw. I did some there and some at LCC, EMU, and JCC. The key is to get you classes done before you apply in Aug. Also apply as early as possible. I am one of the waitlisted people so I am applying other places as well. It is something to look at. Good luck you will do great.

I am waitlisted also. They will just tell you that they will look at everyone who is waitlisted when a spot open ups. If you get in they will send you a letter in the mail. That is what they told me when I called. There is no ranking on the waitlist. I would plan on U of D. Who wants to wait another year and end up on the waitlist again. I am applying to other schools.

JustJane, I called about waitlist procedure. I am on the waitlist. I found out when a spot becomes available everyone on the waitlist goes back to a review board and they decide who will fill it.

Wayne Sate Second Career Nursin Program
I know some one that has gone through the program and said it was great. I just need to get my transcripts to the nursing school and see if all my classes will transfer in. If not then I will have to see what I need. Undergrad admission was talking I would have to take almost all my classes over again. If school of nursing tells me that I will not apply again. I will do another program. I am looking at out of state colleges now. I would really love to go to Wayne State. It is my first choice but I am not going to take all my prereqs over again. Thanks and good luck with the nursing program. I hear it is a great program.
