Science course 5 yrs or older
Where can you find the school's info for expiry of credits? Not for science but like COM-101 and math? Do you just have to call each of them to find out? Thanks!

Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights
Yes, I am going to Moraine. I work part-time so I think its going to be safer to go for the one science class per term. Its too bad you missed the program by one point but at least it gives us an idea of how much competition there is out there for the same seats.

No, unfortunately, I'm not at the point where I can apply just yet but I'm going to try for the LPN at Wright or Kennedy King

Lindzey24, Congrats on your GPA. Hard work pays off. When you took your science courses at Moraine did you take one each semester or did you take more than one at a time? I'm wondering if I should only take one science course so I can concentrate on getting that A or if an A, would be possible if taking both a Bio and a Chem. Open registration starts Monday so I'm trying to make up my mind.

Lindzey24, Did you decide to transfer to Trinity because of the changes at Moraine or do you think it would just be better to get the BSN directly? Sorry for all of the specific questions, I don't know how to private message. I do like how responsive Trinity is for all applicants but I need to pay a lot of my tuition so I have to look for affordable options.

Lindzey24, I am looking at Moraine, Morton, Daley, Kennedy-King and Wilbur Wright (LPN) for now. If I can't get in anywhere then I will probably try to go to a private school. I am about to begin a CNA program but I'm not sure how high I can score on the TEAS test yet. I'm thinking of taking some math courses to brush up on that part while taking pre-reqs for the other programs. I'm just getting started and hope I can do it.

Lindzey24, since MVC changed their program do you think it is more restricting for incoming applicants?

Kennedy King College
I wonder what the requirements are to get into that club. I've called a few times and they are very tight lipped about it.

Am I hopeless if I think I can actually start and get into MVCC?
Chris, I'm glad to come across an MVCC student! I am planning to take all of the pre-reqs and get those out of the way but with the new requirements, I am going to begin to apply as soon as I am able. I am thinking long term. I want to go to MVCC because it is my community college and it would be cheaper but I need to cover all my bases so I am going to plan as if I will have to transfer to another school at some point. I just signed up for a CNA course! How do you like the program? What is the age range of the program? Thank you again.

That's awesome news. I'm just starting out anyway, so I would have to do all the pre-req bio's but maybe by next summer I can apply! Great. Thanks for the info.

Advice on the best way to go
Hi Deepseekingnursing, If I may ask, how did you like the Health Restoration Program and what LPN program did you end up going to? I'm still trying to figure out my own plan. I have it set for a community college but I'm worried it will take forever to get into anything.

Am I hopeless if I think I can actually start and get into MVCC?
Thanks for the reply croat. I am just starting out, so I have a long ways to go for all the pre-reqs to be completed, etc. Should I aim for all As? If so, I may have to take less classes so I can devote the time to them because I do work and have children. Will my best chance to get into the program be to get the max points I can get? Will a 3.5 GPA not be good enough? I'm probably getting ahead of myself but I want this so bad, that I want to do it right. Thanks again.

Am I hopeless if I think I can actually start and get into MVCC?
I've been reading through these forums and while I was originally convinced that I was too old to attempt a nursing program, I realize now that I'm not. Its something that I have always wanted to do and I do not want to keep regretting not going for it. With that being said, I am finally at a point in my life, where I can actually try to do it and if I do not seize this opportunity, I may never. I created a Plan of Action and would like to attend MVCC for both pre-reqs, CNA and the program itself. Am I fooling myself to think that I would actually be able to get into the program? I am going the 'use only MVCC college credit' and so I will have a clean slate. I will try my best to get top grades but will it be enough? With so many applicants, do I even have a shot? Does anyone know, for example, if there is a point where the MVCC nursing program IS out of reach for some? I am just starting out but I'm afraid of failing at this lifelong goal. Thank you for reading.
