Sanford Brown College of St. Peters, MO LPN to ADN RN
Sorry, but I feel like that 7000 for nursing program is BS. I went to Jeffco, one semester was over $3000. And it took 5 semesters to get ur RN, not to mention the year of pre-reqs I had to do before hand. Now I'm in a dilemma, I got kicked out due to missing too much time, due to illness. Now to get back in at jeffco i have to wait a year and a half. I'm 35, and I don't wanna wait!! LOL. I have an appt at St Louis College of Health Careers tomorrow to talk to them about their LPN program. A friend sent me an email asking me to PLEASE do research first. She told me that the For-profit colleges normally don't transfer, so basically I can get my LPN but it isn't going to , for example, transfer back to Jeffco for the RN program. I want to get done before I'm grayer, anyone have any suggestions?

17 August 2009 - the big day for some of us :)
Well I know we were supposed to post after the first day, but today was my 4th. I stupidly thought I'd have time to be online, LOL, NOT!!! I wasn't able to sleep the night b4 the 2nd day either, ugh. Now I have Unisom!! Thank God! Anyways, I've been studying/reading/doing homework up til time for me to go to bed. The people in my class are awesome and I can tell we are going to have fun over the next two years. Some of the people I had the last 2 semesters of pre-reqs with, so we already "know" each other. We already have 3 tests next week. Growth & Development, Dosage Calculations and Nutrition. I've been super busy and now just wish I could get used to the sleep schedule. I get up at 530am and go to bed at 930pm. Tomorrow we only have to go to school for a handwashing lab from 8-830am. So, that'll be nice. And I'm looking forward to sleeping on Saturday morning. Hope everyone had a good first couple of days. KEEP ON PUSHING! We already had one of the guys drop out yesterday

17 August 2009 - the big day for some of us :)
Tomorrow is the big day for me too! I'm excited, but I'm scared to death too. Questioning whether or not I can do it. Thank God my man has faith in me (love him for that) I hate that I doubt myself, I've made Dean's list every semester for the last year. I took 2 Benadryl, hoping that will help me sleep, but I have a feeling I'll be waking up every hour or so to check the clock and make sure I haven't overslept. I started to freak a little while ago when I looked out and saw it was getting dark out. Got my lunch made, my back pack ready and my clothes out. LOL. GOOD LUCK EVERY1!!!

Been accepted for Fall 2009? Shout your good news here!
I applied for my program in August...No news til March, so we had to wait 7 months. I hate it cuz here I am taking my 2nd semester of pre-reqs and then by March I'll have taken all of this and then have to possibly wait a year. I did good on PSB, so I'm not really sweating, just gotta concentrate on keeping the grades up, and boy... Anatomy and Physiology is really stressing me so far this semester. It scares the crap out of me actually.!! LOL.... But good luck to ya!!!!

Anybody else feeling bad??
Hi all, I kinda have a different situation. My kids, unfortuneatly, but fortunatly for school reasons, are 10 hours away. Now I don't get to see them as much throughout the year and Its also harder to find time to call also, by the time they are out of school, I'm in class, and when I get out of class, they are in bed. I'm taking A&P this semester, big Histology exam tomorrow : (, i've been studying all day, I also have Medical Ethics, First Aid and CPR, and History (also a challenge for me, cuz I'm just not interested in it. My boyfriend has 3 kids that live with us, so I'm pretty much Mom to them, but I just don't have time like I used to. We hardly ever go out anymore, seems like I go to school and then come home, that's my life. But we find out the 3rd week of March whether or not we are getting into the nursing program. So I just keep telling myself that this is just the tip of the iceberg, I'm not even started yet with the really hard stuff, so I should just shut up the griping and just roll with the punches. Looking forward to this forum, would love to talk to other prospective nursing students.
