And more books... let me know what you need! I am located in south Broward, please message me if you are interested.

  3. Is the 3.6 cut off for MDC for regular or accelerated? Hmm.... that is tough. I am hoping to get in to MDC or FAU accelerated for 2010 - does anyone know which is typically "easier" to get into?
  4. Did anyone who applied to accelerated FAU, UM or MDC test - CLEP - out of anything such as Psychology or Chemistry, for example, for pre-requisites? Meredith Brooks at FAU suggested it, but I don't want it to reduce my chances of getting in to any of these pages by not getting a grade in the class and just testing out. If I was to CLEP out of Chemistry I wonder if I can also CLEP out of Chemistry Lab?
  5. MagnesiuM - I am considering the accelerated MDC program for next year. Are your classes in the main MDC building right near Jackson? And which hospitals have you been working at? I am just thinking of commuting issues, since I live in Hollywood. Thanks.

Congrats Chauncy24! I would like to go to the FAU accelerated program next year, so hopefully at this time a year from now I'll get that same e-mail. The FAU nursing facility is beautiful and I have heard good things about the program. Please do share your GPA, Hesi score, etc.
  7. I just recently decided to go back to school for nursing after being in the workplace (non-medical) for many years. I am looking for accelerated programs north, south or in Broward. So far I have found the following 4 options: Miami Dade College, U of Miami, Barry and FAU for accelerated programs that would start in 2010. I am going to start my pre-requesits at BCC and PBCC. I would like to do accelarated because I can only take one year off work max. My questions are -- do any of the scholarships where you agree to work for a hospital after or student loans cover any of you living expenses while in school, or just tuition? I don't mind going in to debt, but I'm going to have to figure out where my living expenses will come from during that time. I have read the websites of all of the programs inside and out -- did most of you sit down with someone at the schools as well and talk to them to make sure you were taking the correct pre-requisites etc? I've left messages with a couple of the programs and I haven't gotten much response. And does anyone recommend any other accelerated programs in the Miami to Palm Beach area? I'm currently leaning towards FAU - which of the 4 I mentioned above would be considered the hardest to get in to? Does name really matter when pursuing a nursing career? Thank you for any help you could give!
