  1. 4EverDavesGirl, Dadgum, and anyone else who thinks they failed: Let me share my story with you to gain your hope up. I took the nclex on monday. My best friend had 75 questions, and passed with flying colors- my questions kept coming, and coming, and god, I lost count after 170. I have never felt so bad about any test in my life. There were meds and diseases that I have never heard of. One of the diseases wasn't even found anywhere in my Kaplan book. Have more faith in yourselves and trust in the lord and pray. I strongly feel that if it was not for the lord and my faith, I would not have made it. Im sure you all did fine. Just believe and don't doubt miracles.
  2. I am sure you did fine! I didn't think I passed either, I was SURE I failed and was depressed eatting chocolate and crying for two days! Everyone says they think they fail, and now I see how true that is. Have hope. you didn't make it this far for nothing. I am sure you did fine.
  3. Guess what? ....................I found out today that I PASSED! Thank yoiu all for your words of encouragement and prayers! I am so grateful. I will continue to pray for all of you! Thank you again! :clpty:
  4. More good news, I found out I passed today too! Thank u all for your words of encouragement! God Bless you all! And good luck to all!\
  5. We are riding in the same boat. I have been looking up alot of ?'s that I was doubting myself on, and the answers I picked, are of course, wrong.
  6. Also forgot to add I think that the last question I had a gut feeling that I went on, and my friend swears that I am right, and thats when the computer shut off. Maybe thats a good sign?
  7. I started doing better on the QBank questions as well. 68s-80s. There were things on there that the Kaplan book didn't even include, which had me gasping when I ran out of the building in tears. I had no multiple multiples, no diagrams, no calcs, just multiple choice.
  8. So i took my nclex this am, and feel absolutely horrible. There was so many things I had no idea what the heck they were asking, or talking about, so much I know we did not learn in class. I do not feel confident at all, and am very scared. I had about 197 questions, and then boom-lights out.
  9. :dncgbby: congrats
  10. i am going to be you on monday. i have freakin bronchitis, and by monday will have my....ya know...monthly friend which really sux! did i mention i'm a train wreck with tests? i think the avg number of questions are like 198 kaplan said, im sure you did fine!
  11. The way I try to eliminate those answers are if any pts are : to be discharged newly admitted needing teaching/education not stable then they would not be delegated to an LPN. Maybe "newly post-op" wouldn't be considered an issue in this situation? Sorry cuoldn't help more.
  12. We were told to prepare to be there for 6 hours. Bring lunch, water, etc and prepare for a long day!
  13. I am going to try to do the opposite of everything you listed. I was just curious b/c I have been reading where many people didn't pass, or have taken it multiple times, but there's supposed to be a 85% passing rate? Im sure you know how nervous I am. any tips to get over test anxiety? Thanks.
  14. My first thought when reading that question was that the SICU nurse should be able to handle a newly post-op pt w/ a renal stent placement since those nurses are used to dealing with critical surgical patients. I wouldn't chose that answer though if it was a med-surg nurse for example. Hope that helps some.
  15. I also am having issues with that book. Some of the answers are not what Kaplan has said, or what we were taught in school.
  16. :bowingpurWooHoo Congrats!
  17. did you feel that the this book confused you at all? i got confused on a few problems here and there b/c school taught us this way and then the book tells us that way. i was just wondering how that affected you, and how this reflected your decisions to choose this./that answer on nclex. thanks.
  18. i pray that i am not one of those 20-25% to complete the whole test on monday i already know if i go past 75 i am going to panic! i really wish i didn't have test anxiety so bad! it makes it so much harder:uhoh3:
  19. I graduated in Dec, and the past two years weren't that bad. It was just the time management. At the time, I thought the world was going to end, I was going to die of failure, etc. I was on a rant! But it really wasn't the material, but the time needed to put into it going fulltime, and being a single mom.
  20. An idea for the future... Wouldn't it be a great idea if we could use sometype of pharm book for our nclex? There is not any nurse that knows every med out there, or their effects, etc. What do they do when they do not know----Look at a pharm book or online data base. I think it would be great if we could use a pharm book for the nclex- then they could test our ability to properly look up medications..hehe
  21. i haven't done the greatest on the kaplan q-banks myself. i try to make up my own exams choosing the sections i have the most probs with and concentrate on them. i heard from numerous people that kaplan's questions are a lot harder than nclex. ill let you know after monday..
  22. does anyone have any tips/tricks in remembering the differences between addison's and cushings? they confuse the heck out of me. i read about them over and over, but still am having trouble. also, any good tricks in remembering hypo/hyper electrolyes, like hyperkalemia..s/s, etc.? any help is wonderful!
  23. what do you all think are the most common reasons someone fails the nclex? do you think it's nerves, or lack of preperation, etc? just curious. everyone keeps saying "you will be fine", but when it comes down to it, what if i am not? i didn't want to get my hopes up at first to pass, but now i just found out if i do not, i basically lose my job, and i (like many others), cant afford it!
  24. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I take mine Feb 9th and am so tired of reading and answering questions, and reading more, and answering more questions! I will be praying for you all! We deserve this! Please pray for me as well! We didn't get this far for nothing!
  25. God Bless you all that have taken, and are about to take your NCLEX. I wish you all the very best, and will include you in my prayers. We have come so far to get to this point and the only thing in the way of our future is this test! I am taking my NCLEX Feb 9th. Pls include me in you prayers. I am scared to death as all of you also probably are. God bless you all again.
