Where Do Nursing Students Work?
IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS EXPERIENCE USUALLY ISN'T A BIG THING. MOST PLACES ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TRAIN YOU. I DID BARTEND/SERVE FOR 5 YEARS BEFORE I GOT MY CMA...MY INCOME CUT DOWN TO HALF!! APPLY TO SEVERAL RESTAURANTS AND DEF. MAKE SURE IT IS A BUSY AND/OR WELL PRICED MENU (THAT CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE) I PROB MADE 400-500$ JUST WORKING WEEKENDS. ITS A GOOD SHORT TERM JOB AND YOU LEARN GREAT PEOPLE SKILLS LOL!!:chuckle

Apply for job before graduation or wait......
I looked for positions at various hospitals in the area online. I filled out the application and submitted a resume (no cover letter unless requested). The application asks for experience, or in this case it would be a place for graduation date. A lot of hospitals that I applied to for example Georgetown University Hospital offered a student nurse fellowship day where you went and met with recruiters for each unit hiring...not all hospitals do this though. The place I applied at now I put my application in for RN 1 positions (

Bad at retaining info
The more you review concepts the more you tend to retain the information sometimes weather you realize it or not. My advice is to read you lecture outlines, buy an nclex review book...Saunders is a good one. Start doing practice questions for the unit you are reviewing and go over the rationals. You will be suprised how much this helps you apply the concepts. Good luck!

Where Do Nursing Students Work?
I suggest a secretarial job at a doctor office or on a unit at a hospital which will hire part time. If you can find something in the medical field. It will benefit you through school if you are already in the atmosphere esp. when clinicals start. Just something to think about. I worked full time as a Medical Assistant through out school up til the day before my boards.

Apply for job before graduation or wait......
APPLY NOW! Most recruiters will work with you if for some reason you don't pass. Instead of RN orientation; some will let you be a tech until your next exam. You will be suprised how fast jobs will be filled regardless of the shortage; hospitals can only handle so many fellows at one time. I had my job two months before I graduated and I am still waiting to take my boards. So start now...get your practice with intviewing if anything. It will give you a chance to see what is available to you! Go for it!!:)

I've been focusing on getting things done for my new job as a RN starting Feb. 2 5. I really really wanted a break! Too much of one now it seems. Med/Surg Im pretty good in. I take the Nclex-RN exam Jan. 30th. I graduated in Dec. and I havent reviewed since because I was waiting for my authorization to test. I got it two days ago and I need to start ASAP. Any advice on reviewing in such a short period of time? Help please and thank you for your suggestions ahead of time.
