  1. Luckily, our school uses Blackboard and a lock down browser for all exams so we see our results immediately. The only thing we get impatient for is the news about any points being given back d/t exam error.
  2. :chuckle:yeah: You got me laughing out loud with that one. During my clinicials a friend/co-student and I were walking the halls of the nursing home we were at after most of the residents were in bed. We used a restroom on a more closed off section of the home and when we walked out of the bathroom we caught two elderly residents mid-makeout, with the woman up against the wall. They both looked completely surprised and pushed away from each other and we just put our heads down and walked off. We then asked one of the nurses instructing us if that was okay.. and she said, "They're allowed to have relationships but I'm pretty sure I know which guy you're talking about. Do you know which woman was he with? We have a little love-triangle going on..so we just need to keep an eye on who's with who." :omy:

I don't think we can really do that since she doesn't always remember us. She's 102 so, as she puts it, she's got a lot of memories in there already and just not a lot of room for new ones. :) She's such a sweet woman. Thanks to the lovely weather we have going on, we haven't had a chance to get out there. That and my friend has left to go home for the holidays. We're thinking next week we'll be able to get out there and hopefully give her the blanket.

*Please excuse the Typo in the header.. darn spell check in word! lol* I have a question regarding HIPAA. I'm new to the nursing field so please forgive my ignorance. While doing my clinicals for nursing assistant a friend of mine in the class and I became very attached to one of the residents. Since our class ended, we continue to visit her periodically and we're hoping to give her a nice blanket as a gift for Christmas. My question is this, is it okay to talk about her? I don't mean her health, her care or anything that had to do with when we were doing our clinicals.. but at what point is it okay to discuss someone who your formerly cared for but now just visit with? I don't want to push any rules or boundries but I also do care about her and my friend and I weren't sure what is and is not okay for us to talk about with each other or say to family members after visiting her.
  5. Hello! I'm Katie and I'm new to this site & the nursing profession in general. I'm a student and I just obtained my nursing assistant certification. I"ll start working as a CNA in January and I'm extremely excited, as I LOVED my clinicals. I am, however, a little nervous about my schooling. I'm doing very well so far (4.0 woohoo!) but I have only done my general education classes. Any advice on what I can expect to encounter when I start my actual nursing classes next spring? Any advice in general for someone just starting out? Anything would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
