HELP! Interview this weekend!
Oh, so I guess the interviews are over? I doubt they are still going on, with letters being mailed out on the 1st of April. I did email Avery and she just said thanks for your patience and that she will call me if selected for an interview. She didn't say whether or not they were over. Well, I agree that notices being sent would have been nice. I didn't even know that interviews were being done until I read this thread. Hope you get in dancergirl586.

HELP! Interview this weekend!
Congratulations! I applied to Concordia for Fall of 2009 but never got a call for an interview. I didn't know they called you for interviews as their FAQ states that you can call to ask questions about transcripts/coursework but an interview is not required. But they may have changed their requirements as they did require 2 recommendations that is stated in their FAQ as optional. Anyways, I hope I get an interview. If not, does that mean I'm not going to be considered? Wow, I had no clue....But congrats! I would say relax and be confident.

Anyone attending or taken the Accelerated BSN at Concordia in Irvine?
Hi luckykim! I'm in the same boat. I applied to Fall 2009 class at Concordia and have yet to hear from them. Good luck to you. I think Eclaire's comments and other comments were helpful. I have to take the theology class if I get in, but I'm not a religion minor or major. I'm waiting and I know that letter get mailed out by April 1st, so keeping my fingers crossed. Can anyone else that may be in the program, applied to the program or considered applying, share more information? Thanks

Pacific College Costa Mesa Associate's Degree Program???
Thank you OC85. I will try to set up an appointment to talk with Patti from admissions and address these questions. I know I shouldn't base my judgment on a school based on posts that shed negative light. I guess it may be so that all the schools have some drop out that wants to talk bad about the education. Still, I guess I thought any private school will have admissions jumping for dollar signs and giving extreme rave reviews and I just want honest opinions from students that are there or have graduated there. I appreciate your feedback on the school. Thanks again....

C in A&P 3 and Microbiology?
I think it depends on the competitiveness of getting into the school such as long waitlists. I talked to a Saddleback community college counselor here in California and he said I needed all A and B, mostly A. Then again, I didn't have that. Either way, you have a chance to retake those classes if you don't get into the school. Just apply and wait to see. You never know, especially if you have other good grades like you mentioned for A&P. Also, if you had any extenuating circumstances, such as a family emergency et cetera this semester, you can also bring that to the school's attention to explain your bad term. Good luck!

Pacific College Costa Mesa Associate's Degree Program???
Hi! I was interested in the Pacific College nursing program. They offer both LVN and Associate degree programs. I was wondering if anyone else got accepted into either programs. I am considering the Associate's degree. I would just search the website for alot of my questions but I think the links are broken. I can't seem to navigate on the page as the jpg images aren't visible. Must be a web issue. So you can see if I wonder if the school is legit. I just want out of the long wait list at places like Saddleback and Golden West but I still want a great education. Any advice would be great. I did a search on the topic and get both sides of the spectrum of either an awful school or a great school.

Any current students of the ABSN prgm at Interamerican in PR on the site?
Wow, I never heard of this school. Thanks for the post. I am a newbie too and lurked for a couple of weeks before deciding to join. I am weary of attending a Caribbean school b/c I did so poorly at a Caribbean medical school where the education was way substandard as the boards looked like a foreign language in comparison to the curricula. Just check out the pass rate at that school. I googled the school name and could not find the site. If anyone knows the link, I would be interested to visit and research more into the school. Thanks.

New AUHS Long Beach, CA BSN Program
Anyone attend American University of Health Sciences in Long Beach, CA??? I just found the website today. Does the school look shady? Here is the link to the school site: http://www.auhs.edu/index.html I looked on the ca.gov site and did not find it listed as an accredited school which makes me weary about the program. I would contact said people for the school but they will obviously be promoting like heck beit I think its a trade school. Just wondered if anyone either attended or goes there now or atleast heard of the school.

Micro prerequisite expiration
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I posted a really wordy post which has not gotten any replies. I realize it was too many questions at once. My primary concern now is that my Microbiology was taken 6-7 years ago (most schools won't take any prereqs over 5 years old) and I would like to get into nursing school as soon as I complete physiology in the Spring semester. Are there any ADN or BSN schools besides Saddleback, Concordia in Irvine, and West Coast College that may accept the micro without me having to retake it? Thanks in advance. :typing

Everest College
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and found the site researching on the field. I want to be a nurse and am applying to Concordia in Irvine for a BSN. I already have an english degree at another college and they require you have a bachelors already before you apply to their program. My question is about Everest College. I was considering applying here. I also considered West Coast University on the Anaheim campus but searched the threads here and found out that they do not transfer units to other schools in the case that I may want to pursue a masters or RN if I only for for their LVN program. Sure, I want atleast a bachelors but the tuition costs are monumental there. I also considered Mt. SAC (San Antonio College) be it they are all lottery system. Other community colleges I hear have waitlists that take 1 or more years to get in if you even get on the list. I calculated tuition to be 24,500 dollars at Concordia in Irvine and hear on other threads that its 116,000 at West Coast University. I read that it is a "trade school" and it would be like apples and oranges compared to colleges and universities to actually be able to transfer credits, so I figure its not worth it. I would apply to more schools such as Long Beach City College, Cypress College or Saddleback College, but I would need to retake Microbiology since its more than 5 years old. I am taking Physiology and American history in the Spring (Amer. Hist is required for many community colleges) and weren't able to get into the Microbiology class, and I don't want to delay. Are there any schools in Southern California that have atleast a 6 year period since one's taken the classes rather than 5? I just need some advice on what schools I could apply to which I would commute from Irvine. Thanks
