get your cna through a weekend course and try to get a job as a cna at a nursing home or a tech/cna in a hospital. Most hospitals like nursing students once they have their first semester out of the way. Apply and make sure you have a letter of reference from your professor.

campus selection was based on gpa. the higher then you were given your first choice and then down from there. I'm at southshore

I didn't buy the bundle but wish I had. Now i'm doing it piece by piece and it's driving me nuts - not sure it's even going to save me money in the long run. However, one thing that I'm so glad i bough is "all-in-one care planning resource" so worth the money when you're writing care plans and nursing diagnosis papers all the time. Also buy the NCLEX review with questions book from Saunders. The Made Incredibly Easy series rocks if you have problems with Fluids and Electrolytes and other areas. HTH! :-)

you could study a previous ed. but you really need the ed. the prof asks for when you get to class- at least that was my experience. HTH

I know it was said before but NCLEX book by Saunders and my other fav NCLEX made incredibly easy series. "All-In-One Care Planning Resource" 2nd edition.

Medications calculations book- know your conversions now. we have an exam every semester on med calc. also tabers- can't live with out it. Davis drug guide, nursing pocket guide HTH :-)

You can challenge the CNA exam and become certified. do a google search on your state regs. i know i can be a cna in FL after my first semester since it preps me for the exam. HTH

I'm not sure I understand the grade forgiveness conversation- my adviser at HCC said it would work to take my math over to improve my grade from 10 yrs ago.

best of luck- i remember very well the long anxious wait. make sure to include a self-addressed stamped postcard so you know they received your application with everything included (plus keep a copy of all your docs)

it's 4 semesters with summers off. so 2 years basically. i don't know about priority based on district area. i was told by the school it's all based on gpa. best of luck!! ;-)

no, you need to log on to the background screening site and fill in the info and pay more for the background check!!

nope i keep checking. not sure how they expect us to get everything done and verified by the orientation date. It takes Tallahassee 3 to 6 weeks to process background checks. though i have had it done faster. i always send it priority mail and include a priority mail stamped envelope for them to send it back to me.

I got Southshore too! :-) I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in November. I'm so antsy about it all. I was thinking last night as I went to bed at a very decent hour "what will it be like? How many all nighters will I have to pull?" KWIM???

I requested Southshore but am concerned that they wont have all the technology that the other campuses have. My friend took anatomy there last semester and her labs were boring and had none of the interesting dissections and blood analysis etc. that my class at Dalemabry had.

I heard that we wont receive a letter until Nov. but this is just a rumor no confirmation.

no updates to my doc section but my check cleared! From now on i will include a self-addressed post-card acknowledging that they have received my documents. Now eagerly awaiting Nov. orientation!
