Is anyone an L.P.N. in the Army?
Do a Google search. There are several Army forums that will answer this question for you. Or better yet, call your local recruiter and get the scoop.

any of you do any weightlifting/powerlifting/bodybuilding?
I agree. That's pretty much what I recommended except I would also throw in the press. Press is really going to bulk up your shoulders much more than bench. However, to your credit, even without press your exercises below are still better than 99% of what people are doing in the gym. =)

If he did bench, row, press and squats, he hit all of his body. A few other exercises I would throw in would be: Pullups, Bar Dips and Deadlifts. With those 7 exercises, you are hitting EVERYTHING. No curls necessary.

What about squats and deadlifts? Those are the two best muscle builders there are period.

Hopkins...Who Else is Applying?
Seems they have a Graphic Designer position open. Hmm... I could apply for that and take Nursing classes at night? Yes, No?? Worth looking into I suppose.

Re-Take College Algebra and/or Chemistry Classes?
I took them 18 years ago. WOW. Just typing that makes me feel old. =)

Re-Take College Algebra and/or Chemistry Classes?
I took these two classes 18 years ago as a young freshman and got C's in them both. I just wanted to get opinions on whether I should repeat them? 1) to improve the C grade. 2) to get a refresher, especially for the Math class. I don't know how much algebra type math there is in higher level Nursing classes. Thanks for your feedback!

Anatomy and Physiology Online ONLY!
I did find out that there are in person classes offered at the Military base across town, so I have that option. Kind of a bummer though because I only live 2 blocks from the main campus. Those of you coming back for a second degree, do you recommend retaking classes (like English 101, Chemistry 101 or College Algebra for example) that you got a 'C' during your previous degree?
-
Anatomy and Physiology Online ONLY!
Yeah, I love the OPTION of being able to take online classes also but since this is a University in the middle of a medium sized city, I shouldn't be FORCED to take online classes. It's not a deal breaker. I was just really surprised when I found out. Especially with a class as intense as A&P. What this means is that I will probably end up taken them from a community college which is a fraction of the cost. So keeping the glass half full, it just makes my decision easier to take the online classes from the comm college. =) I also have to take a Communications 101 class and I will probably take English 101 over (to get gpa up as high as possible) since I got a C in it years and years ago as an 19yr old freshman. I think these two classes would be good candidates to take at the same time online, to test the waters (of online classes). Alright...sorry for rambling.

Anatomy and Physiology Online ONLY!
The local university where I live offers A&P online only! Can you believe that? They don't even offer it on campus. So now I am forced to have to drive a long distance to take a class in person. Has anyone else ran into this obstacle?

ISU Fast Track Program-Boise
Great! Thank you very much and have fun at orientation. =) Did you take your pre-reqs 1 at a time or how many did you take at a time? I have to work fulltime until I start so I'm trying to decide on how many I could take and still pull A's. Thanks again for the list! I will print it out tomorrow and get started. =)

ISU Fast Track Program-Boise
Hello SqirleyNut! I am going to be applying to this program myself. Do you have any tips, advise etc.? Was the program hard to get in and did you have to apply multiple times or anything like that? Any info would be great!. I am very excited about the potential as the short time frame is great. Thanks!

Radiology Nurse or Radiologist Technologist?
This is something I posted on the radiology forum but figured I would get more response here. This has been discussed in the past but I figured I would re-visit it. As some of you may have seen, I have already posted an intro thread. I have been doing Graphic Design for the last 12 years and have tired of it. I have always wanted to enter the Health field so now I think I will. I always wanted to give Nursing a try than found Radiology. So I started poking around and thought it would be a good fit coming from Graphic Design. Now I am reading here that the Radiology Technologist market is flooded?? Due to lots of schools opening up recently. I was 50/50 on Radiology or Nursing before reading this. Where I live there is a "Fast Track" BSN program for those of us who have a previous Bachelor degree. This is what I'm leaning towards since it would be only 4 semesters after pre-classes (I'm loving that!). The radiology technologist is also 4 semesters after pre-classes. Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like Nursing would be a better option right now, all things considered? More $, bigger demand, similar career? I could always become a Radiology Nurse. I really do love technology but I think being in Nursing I would get plenty of that. Any advise welcome. Muchas Gracias!!

Yeah, that's probably sound advise...not taking a harder Science class like Chemistry or A&P online first off. I talk to an Advisor on Monday so maybe there's an easier class that I still have to take, I'm not sure. Thanks all to all of those who have been there done that, for the great advise! The great thing is that I am so dang eager and motivated to get started that I can't stand it. I figure that can only be a good thing.

Thanks! How many pre-classes do you have to take? Good luck and I am sure I will see you around.

Back to College after 20 Years
Wow! Here I was thinking I was the oddball with what I'm doing. Turns out there are lots of us!! That gives me great hope and gets me excited even more. Sounds like you are on the right track to me. Are you starting your classes in January? Which are you taking 1st? I am going to take my first one in January, I think I will start with the Chemistry one 1st. Good luck!

Yes, those "creative" meetings...gah! I know exactly where you are coming from. 2 years ago I was working on a website a big client and this job was "so important" that I was stuck working on it while visiting my Grandparents over ThanksGiving. 6 hours a day. Can you say yuck??! The main thing though, about the Advertising field, is it just seems so unfulfilling. I have no problem with hard work. If I do end up taking the online classes I will probably hop on over to the campus and sit in on the lectures. I only live 2 blocks away...best of both worlds. Thanks for your advise!

Science won't be bad for me. My graphic design kind of migrated to coding and designing websites and I have always been very analytical so I think I will be ok with that. That is the other reason I am also considering the Radiology degree. How far are you into the nursing? Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Thanks you two for responding and for your input on the online classes! I don't really want to take them either but the cost is a huge difference. The distant community college offers the 3-4 prerequisite courses online for $86 per credit. The local University, where I will be doing the Nursing or Radiology, cost per credit is $335. For 12-15 credits that's a huge difference for me. We will see though, I am still in early planning stages. For those whom were working full time and taking your pre classes, how many did you take per semester? I'm guessing 1 would be enough for me. That way I can focus more an pull A's, which will help in getting accepted for the program. Those that had/have other Bachelors degrees, how did that affect your process? Did it help in getting accepted into programs? I also picked up fluent Spanish along the way so that should help I would think.

Wow, I'm really surprised. Was there something wrong with my intro? I was sure hoping for more response than 0...
