Hi, i know that ucsd med center follows the CNA union pay rates. a new grad will start around $31-32 an hour. a CNII is anyone with more than 6 months experience will start at base $33 and of course bases are higher depending on years of experience that you come in with. Differentials are around $3.85 for nights and $2.80 for weekends (thus, 3.85+2.80 for weekend nights). hope this helps.

I was wondering if any of you seasoned NICU nurses would have any resume tips or sample resumes you could share with me? I am a nicu rn with about 1 year of experience and need to get a new resume together. I started in the nicu as a new grad rn and thus only have experience with writing a simple, generic, new grad resume. i know i have alot of skills now working in a level 3 nicu, but need a little help with making sure that is conveyed in a strong resume. Specific question: Are abbreviations such as HFOV, iNO, CPAP, HFJV etc. acceptable in a NICU RN resume if I am applying to another NICU position?

Hi there, Quick question about Livescan versus fingerprinting cards. For Livescan, is there an actual paper form that I need if I am travel to LA, for example, and decide to go to a place to have Livescan done? I believe I requested the form from BRN, but I received the fingerprinting card in the mail. I have a feeling that they probably saw my MA address and automatically changed my request and gave me the fingerprint card. I just need someone to confirm that there is actual Livescan card that I need, or can I just show up at Livescan and get it done? Thanks.

Hi, May I ask what floor/unit you received an offer from? I have heard only good things about UCLA Medical Center. They also have the highest starting pay for nurses in the county from my own research so far. Congrats!
