Today was the second day of class. I am SO overwhelemed! It just seems like we have to KNOW so much and so much is due. Im really starting to question myself now..Can i do this? i Dont know..i guess i just need to vent. Ive already been questioning if i was going to go for LPN OR RN, i dont know if i could take another 2 semesters.. Is it going to get any easier?

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I am anxious about tomorrow, but not as bad as i thought id be. I will be in school Mon, Tue, lab on Wed, Clinical Thur and class Fri. I do have to work so i will have health insurance and to pay my bills. My employer does reimburse for my classes and books, up to 4,000 a year or if you're part time they will pay a portion. We are down a couple aids at work, so i understand they need me. I have been telling my boss since last semester that I might be going to part time, so she has had time to plan. I dont know, i guess i'll just tell her what i can do and she'll have to deal with it. It just adds to my anxiety when i constantly have her asking to add more visits to my schedule. Im sure i will posting more frequently thanks again

Its finally here! I start nursing 1 on friday and im freakin out.. Im getting myself all worked up, Im nervous. I work as a home health aid and im trying to keep up some hours. Ive explained to my boss that i need cut back, but she keeps insisting i keep up my hours. Im just afraid i will be overwhelmed.. Well, i just needed to get that out ..aargh

I also dissected the sheep brain and eyeball in a&p 1. Right now im in a&p2, we have dissected the fetal pig. I had a couple lab partners that were freaked out too. I just did all the cutting and they looked at all the parts. We had an ID test for the fetal pig, so we needed to know the different organs and such. There was one girl who actually vomited, so our instructor let her sit out and her ID test was on a human model. Im sure you'll do fine

Good for you cHIXIE, i would never have the courage to do so. I had a bad experience during a test out. We were transfering and when my partner went to put the gait belt around me, it didnt fit! I was mortified and of course my parter was a twig. I just quietly said it didnt fit and the instructor said, just pretend .. horrible! :imbar

Im glad to hear that, i was worried i might ask too many questions and i might annoy the nurses.

I feel the same! I start nursing 1 in Jan, i am so scared. Im the type of person that just gives up when stressed and i really dont want to do that. I love learning and being in class, im just afraid that when i actually have to do something im going to freeze and mess up or forget. I started nursing 1 two years ago, but dropped. I was getting good grades and had about a month left, but i was SO nervous at my clinicals! I ended up getting sick, so instead of talking to my instructors i just dropped. If i drop this time, i won 't be allowed back in the program. I know this is what i want to do. I have been a CNA for the past 6 years and i love helping people, but im bored. I love watching discovery health channel. When i was younger i used to watch "the operation" every friday Im so glad i found this site, i think the support here will help me succeed.
