  1. Oh, I'm not getting a visa to be with him. I am just going on a holiday as a tourist in the meantime.
  2. Hey Hannah, Yes, it is so insanely complex and we absolutely do not give US nurses the kind of grief we are getting! Can you possibly tell me what they expect in terms of paediatrics/maternity courses and how many clinical hours you need to be approved? I did some of that in my course, I hope it was enough...I'm sooooo not in the mood to go back to Uni. I am moving to New York in March...Regardless of Nursing, I am moving to be with my boyfriend. I really really hope this credentials verification thing doesn't take forever. I am so frustrated!! Anyway, it's great to have someone in my situation and to bounce ideas off:) I'm Anna by the way!
  3. Casserooni, when are you planning to move to the US? Any new updates on your plans? Have you taken any courses? Studying for the NCLEX? Ciao :)
  4. Hey! Thanks a lot for your quick response... Oh, four months is a long time. I haven't even applied yet to the BON for NY state as I haven't even heard back from the CGFNS credentials review. Am I supposed to apply to the BON while applying to the CGFNS? I thought I couldn't do anything until I have had a credentials review from the CGFNS.. mmmm, so confusing:( No, I am not going through a nursing agency at present..Just thought I'd get the beginning parts out of the way and then see what the best thing to do would be. Did you go to Uni in Australia? Did you have to make up courses? A lot of people seem to go through the Vermont board...is that because it is less strict than some others? I am applying to New York because that's where my boyfriend is. This process is absolutely intense! Looking forward to hearing back more.. Thanks :)
  5. Hey there, I haven't sat for the NCLEX yet. Do you recommend the Saunders? Not the Kaplan? How long does it take to hear back from the CGFNS..I am going to NYC. How long does it take to study for the NCLEX? Thank you so much.. Any info would be really appreciated! :)
  6. Hey there! Just thought I'd reply to your post and let you know that I am trying to do the same thing as you. I am a new grad RN working in Sydney and I am moving to New York in March to be with my partner. I have applied to the CGFNS and haven't heard anything back yet. I guess since you were told you have to make up courses, I will too. What uni did you go to? How soon did the CGFNS get back to you? Have you sat the NCLEX? I am really scared about that...I've heard it's very difficult!?!? I would really appreciate having someone to contact that is going through the same process I am. Do you have any idea how long it will all take before we are able to actually work? Are you going through an agency or doing in alone? Any info/ideas would be so greatly appreciated... Thanks so much and good luck :nuke:
