  1. hi...you can just write the date you have started working and then write "present" ex: 19 january 2005 - present. in my case, i manually wrote there "Volunteer Nurse".. Write the date when did you started the nursing course. since your first course wont do anything in the nursing area and it will just create confusions. now, if so happened that youre in doubt with it or if you think that the QNC will doubt it, you can always attach a signed statement, stating that you are a second courser and that the school you have attended allowed you to finish nursing in less than 4 years.well, i think it will show at the end of your TOR.right? just my suggestion: try to gather justifications that will support your papers, specially the TOR one. Send your application to the QNC's postal address the GPO box one.
  2. if im not going to include the christmas and new years break...it will sum up to two months or maybe two and a half months.
  3. study materials are the books recommended by CAS...it was posted previous pages ago... the test a will cost you $200 something, the test b is about $500 something. each module is valued at $ 902.00
  4. true! Australia is just one of the few remaining developed countries which are not in recession brought by the global financial crisis...:) for those who are heading to the USA, that would be a good news for them.
  5. Hi, these are the pertinent documents that you have to submit to QNC, you can submit these by yourself: 1. Diploma 2. TOR 3. Summary RLE and Theory 4. ID 5. QNC Fee 6. Work Experience/Volunteer Certificate ( stating the type of your practice, dates of employment, must indicate that you have demonstrated nursing comoetence, and must be signed bby a Registered Nurse, and the certificate must be on official letterhead). note: submit certified copies only, all documents must be certified by a Justice of the Peace, Commisioner for Declarations, Notary Public or Solicitor...and should include the date certified, contact address and number and signature. 7. Verification of your Current Registration Note: this is the only document that the PRC should send directly to QNC from them...
  6. for me, those who have got enough experience can be called as a doctor... Nurse Practitioners are somehow like a doctor, since they have undergone an extended training and education, and also they prescribe medications and treat patients so for me its just right to call them Doctors too..
  7. so does it mean, that in multiple choice, there could be more than one answer if the CAS is similar to NLCEX? is it quiet tricky? are going to take the PART B this march or april? thanks
  8. wow god is good all the time...congratulations... did you took the challenge test b? or you took the clinical module directly? how many months until you were registered in oz? i mean, from processing, taking the exams and the clinicals? thanks...
  9. i beg to differ...it vary from case to case...a lots of UK nurses are still doing the Bridging Program if they do not meet the requirements in australia...ive known a lot of them actually, and even UK nationals have to take english exam IF they dont meet english requirement...i dont know why, but that what ive known.
  10. i have to answer this one...this doesnt make sense to you but for them (parents) it does...you know why? because they believe thats the only way or shall i say one of the best way that they could escape from poverty and that their child/children would be able to have a better living, despite of the economic crisis nowadays...they are still hoping that despite of the bad economy that the world is experiencing, that one day it will end and that they would surpass it through the help of their child/children who are nurse/s...and that they are still hoping that one day their child/children could go abroad and earn money thats just beyond their expectation...a salary that is hirgher compared in the philippines...a salary that could give them a good life...thats the fact in the philippines' situation nowadays.
  11. for me this is really USELESS... why not just carefully and properly evaluate all of the nursing schools and not allow new nursing schools to operate. what the government should ensure is the quality of nursing education in the country...eliminate those nursing schools that are not doing good in the Board exams and does not meet the standards of nursing education set by the BON and CHED... 4 years of BSN is enough, 5 years is too much for the paying parents...what for if its going to be 5 years if the quality of teaching would not compliment to the length of the program. 5 years is a long agony for the parents, parents should really invest on this...i think the government is just making this as a business...
  12. so if this will happen, do nurses still need to do the bridging program for them to be RNs in the UK, Australia and NZ? Bachelor in Nursing course in australia and NZ can be done in just 3 years, and they dont have Board Exams to gain a registration... in the Phils. it will be 5 years now and then newly graduated nurses should have to pass the Nurse Board Exams to become RNs. so if this proposed 5 year BSN program will be implemented, will this be recognized abroad, without doing any extra course??? thanks.
  13. true...Australia is the best place on earth...very solemn and the life is not so fast track and not chaotic, everything is in order... however, you just have to do a bridging program:cry: which really cost a lot, but there is a single state who will register you at a minimum cost:up:...you can be a RN in the state of Queensland by just taking an exam and will cost you AUD$800.00, excluding expenses (the other pathway is a bit expensive but cheaper compared to other australian states). ive heard and known a lot of filipino nurses who are/were working in the UK and a lot of UK nurse nationals who are/were transferring from the UK to australia...why? australia's offering great benefits and the cost of living is not high compared to the UK's. as of the moment Australia is not in recession, the government have JUST avoided it... see you all in down under, and together we will be an AUSSIE...
  14. hi...i just want to share this.. when i was doing my Nursing Degree in Davao City, i have got two classmates who are US citizens( originally filipino citizens, they are immigrant in the US), they just went back to Davao, Philippines to be eduacted. They took up BSN and when they finished the course for four years, they went back to NY, USA...New York did not require them to take IELTS for the reason that they are US citizens and they didnt even took Philippine Nurse Licensure Exams... Right now, they are reviewing for NCLEX and they are hopeful they will pass NCLEX and be a US RNs. good luck to all.
  15. if the QNC will approved your application, they will send you an enrolment form that you yourself will have to fill up and send it to CAS-CQU...and then once CAS received it they will organize the exam schedule and location for you...
  16. hi carmina, in most cases in australia, after they have received your application form/enrolment form, CAS-CQU will contact you for your payment details...thats the time you will give to them your credit card informations...
  17. yes true...you might just have the first module first and after completing it, you can now asses yourself if you can handle the 2 remaining modules at the same time. but then, you can complete them one by one.... :) joeturtle, did you took the test b or the clinical module? can you give us a sample question (not necessarilly the question that you have encountered) of the test exam? just for us to know on how they formulate exam questions...thanks.
  18. i actually enquired at Deaking Uni in victoria about converting BSN to BN, and that was a year ago, and they told me that it will one year for the course and it will cost AU$8,000... a lot of chinese nurses are doing this, instead of the usual 3 months course in victoria.
  19. in relation to this, ive known few filipino nurses who have years of work experience in the UK, and now they are working in australia, but before acquiring a registration in Australia they still have to do a certain course for them to be eligible for a registration eventhough they already got a UK license, well its still depends upon the experience.
  20. yes...they wont entertain late arrangements, or they wont accept arrangements after the exam. they asked me/us upon lodging the application if we do want a spare copy of the result to be sent in any organization/institution (actually a maximum of 5 spare copies is alright for them, with no extra cost at all).in my case i didnt pay anything, they just let me provide an empty envelope plus the request form that was provided by them. P1400 is a big money. ( i think its really business nowadays...)... and yes, same address, the GPO Box one... good luck for your ielts.
  21. yes...that would be a great move...in my case, i informed the ielts weeks prior to taking the exam, so that everything will be organized by them, and they require me provide an empty mail and give it to them together with the request form that should be filled up, for them to send a copy of the result and be forwarded to QNC. (i dont know if they will require you the same thing).
  22. hi, does it mean that before you do the clinicals, they will look first to your experience before they will admit you into the clinicals? is it a requirement before doing the clinicals?
  23. guys, in IELTS, if you used a word many times will it be counted as one (writing test)? or will it be counted one by one, regardless of how many time you have used it? i need a reply...thanks.
