  1. Yeah. There is a lot of work ahead but I'm ready!!
  2. Well after all of this ROLLER coaster stuff, I got the call today that i was ACCEPTED to the Dallas Campus! :yeah: They messed up my GPA, but all the spots were taken. They waited until someone declined and they gave me a spot. I'm very happy to say the least. I'm excited but I know the hard part has not even begun yet!!!!!!
  3. Wow I talked to Teresa today and guess what she said. I was PROBABLY wait listed because of my NET score. SO i asked her "so the GPA doesn't really matter much and someone with a lower GPA would get in before me" and she goes yes that is correct. She tried looking for my folder, guess what? She could not find it. She told me to call back Monday and speak to Erin. What a B/S procedure and how unorganized they are. One person tells me it was because of my 3.8 GPA and another because of my NET score. Who do I believe? lol. :chuckle:chuckle:chuckle I am a first degree student. No previous degrees at all. I made a B in Developmental Psychology first time and a B in Anatomy and Physiology I the first time. Those two classes I retook and got A's. Anyhow I gotta go to work. But this is just almost funny to me.
  4. Wow.Check this out. I just received an email from Erin Maurer, saying that my GPA was calculated as a 3.8!! Unless I'm getting lower Grade Points for a class I retook(which should NOT be happening) my GPA is EXACTLY a 3.927 which comes out to a 3.93. Can anyone tell me if they can calculate my GPA for me, since I might be making a mistake. I have taken EVERY pre-req except Woman's Studies and I received an A in each except for Chemistry ( i got a B). Only two classes were RETAKEN (a 3 Hour Class and a 4 Hour Class) and I received an A in them second time around. Since I am not a shy person at all, below I will post all of my grades: (anyone who can take the time to calculate my GPA would be greatly appreciated) ^)^ Class and Grade Next To It In Parenthes: Course Number Grade Hist 1013* (A) Eng 1013* (A) Psyc 1013* (A) Chem Lab # (B) Chem Lect # (B) Math 1013 (A) Hist 1023* (A) Eng 1023*(A) Psyc # 1603 (A) Bact # 1001 (A) Bact # 1003 (A) Zool # 2011 (A) Zool # 2013 (A) Gov 2013* (A) Zool # 2021 (A) Zool # 2023 (A) NFS # 2323 (A) Math (Stat) # 1703 (A) Gov 2023* (A) Women's/MC (not taken yet) Lit or Phil * (A) Fine Art* (A) Again, thank you very much in advance. If someone can find that I am wrong in my calculations I would be very happy if you can explain where my math went wrong.
  5. Wow. I got an email today saying I was wait listed. How in the world does someone get wait listed with a 3.93 GPA? My accumulative NET was a 76. I got an 84 on my MATH section, I just heard that they don't even look at that portion.Erin sent me the email and I replied with a question to see why I was wait listed above all things. I'm still grateful to have the opportunity, but I just want a little bit more insight into their thinking. To everyone who helped me out, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Y'all have been wonderful.
  6. My NET was not high at all. It was like a 67 or 68. But if someone had a 3.87, doesn't the person with the HIGHEST GPA get the spot as long as they passed the NET? I don't know how this works really. I just figure it would be somewhat understandable.
  7. Yeah I will have to get a little more aggressive here. Maybe I'm receiving a rejection letter or as the lady on the phone today called it a "regret" letter. lol. I can't do much but laugh here. I'll call tomorrow and ask for Erin. I hope she can help a little bit more. Thanks everyone.
  8. I've re-calculated my GPA 100 times. I used the SPREADSHEET they provide on their website. I only have ONE B and that is in Chemistry. Everything else is an A. It does sound weird and fishy to me as well. I just wanna know whats going on and what their decision was.
  9. Her AggieNurse: If you don't mind me asking, what were your stats when you applied because I know you got accepted? I still haven't gotten any word from them yet. I called today, they really don't know anything. I should have gotten an acceptance letter by now, so all that is left is a REJECTION letter. With a 3.93 I didn't think I'd be getting one but hey everything is possible these days. Anyone get an ACCEPTANCE letter today?
  10. I will definitely do that. I'll wait until tomorrow and call them if it does not arrive. I don't see why it shouldn't arrive tomorrow. Anyhow, thanks for the advice. Hope is all we have left lol.
  11. This is the only school I have applied to and i ONLY want to go to the Dallas Campus. It's close to home and I won't have to worry about bills and the such while I'm in school. I've actually been able to save enough to pay off both years of nursing school without having to get any debt. YAY for me. Now I just gotta GET IN!!!
  12. LOL.:chuckle Yeah i totally agree. It has been a wretched time for many on this post. The waiting...and the waiting...and MORE waiting... It can take a toll on a persons emotions. I just wanna know so that I can plan on QUITTING my darn job. I work for UPS as a P/T Supervisor for over 2 long years now. I CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE!!!
  13. I'm actually very nervous since I live in Mesquite, TX and I still haven't received a letter. I'm guessing it might be a rejection. I have a 3.93 GPA and a 67 0r 68 NET. Either way when I read that a 4.0 was not accepted, that kind of made me a little bit nervous. But to answer your questions, NO LETTER RECEIVED AS OF NOW. :banghead: I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow.
  14. Princess WannaBe: I went to North Mesquite. When IT was a good school! I'm hoping they come as soon as possible so that I know where I stand. I received an Email on Monday saying I had coursework missing. Teresa was her name. She said I must complete my Computer Literacy Class before entering Nursing School. But I informed her that it was just RECOMMENDED to complete these classes before starting and NOT a requirement. She then changed her wording and said that I should do my Computer Literacy class this summer and finish Woman's Studies before I'm done with my Nursing Courses. It was interesting to hear her change it all around when she found out I was fairly well informed about what I needed to do.
  15. To prettyladie: I AM SO BORED MYSELF!!! I never thought I'd be saying I can't wait for school to start haha. :yeah:
  16. Hey everyone, I applied to the Dallas Campus ONLY because that is where I wanna go. It is close to home and I really don't wanna move anywhere. Its about 15 to 20 minutes from me. I live in Mesquite. Thanks to everyone for the moral boosters, this thread sure is awesome. I think we should be getting those letters at the beginning of April. And for the person who said y'all need some testosterone around here, :chuckle now that I can say I have more the enough.
  17. Hey Everyone! Well I'm one of those few MALE's who applied to TWU. :) I've been kind of calm about the whole situation. I applied Spring with a 3.73 GPA and a 67 NET and well I didn't get in. This time I'm applying with a 3.93 GPA and I stuck with the same NET score so I'm just hoping for the best this time around. If I don't get accepted, I will just have to retake my Chem class and I will have a 4.0 when I receive an A. Looking at other people's posts I can see everyone is nervous. Luckily I'm not very anxious this time around, If it happens it happens. I just know I WILL NEVER QUIT TRYING!! Hopefully we all get in and we can all get that darn RN License and move on to bigger and better things and just look back at these days and laugh. I wish everyone the best of luck.:up::up:
  18. well ironically i just re-calculated my gpa and it was actually a 3.788. i triple checked and that is without even considering the government 1301 class which i am in right now. that is just simply stunning that i got a flat out rejection. well i'm mostly angry that having [color=yellow]3 b's out of all my other a's got me rejected. life sure is painful sometimes lol. :argue:
  19. To Goopsy: I applied to the Dallas campus. Really close to my home. I'm guessing it was the NET that might have had a lot to do with it because as I said before, I received a 69. It was very low to me. But I'll retake it as soon as I can. My GPA should go up to at least a 3.9 with the three classes I'm taking right now. So fall is my next chance! Anyhow, congrats to everyone who got in and sorry to US who didn't. Lets look up and keep trying!! I'm not ready to give up because I've had to deal with much tougher things in my life than this!
  20. To mbln: Congratulations on your acceptance!! We are all happy for you. For those of us who have not been accepted, for whatever the reason may be, we will be going at it next semester. :) Lets show some support folks. We all did out very best. Now the past is over with, look to the future and be happy. Rejection is just THAT much closer to ACCEPTANCE lol. :chuckle
  21. I applied to the Dallas Campus. I'm not taking any classes at TWU. But for the person that said retaking classes is a waste of time, I AGREE. But I'm only interested to going to TWU Dallas. Closest to my home and I will be able to save some money. So i don't have much of a choice either way, plus my current job as a Supervisor at UPS pays for my school so I took advantage of that. I'm retaking A&P 1, Developmental Psych, and I never took Texas Government so I'm in that class as well. So im really retaking two classes. I am defenately bummed out, but I'm not a quiter. I will look forward because failure is part of life and we have to LEARN from it. :chuckle
  22. Well at least some folks have heard good news. I received my "REJECTION" letter today. What a bummer. I had a 3.74 GPA with a NET Reading Comp of 69. After I heard that someone was wait-listed I was a little excited. Well what can you do now. I didn't take any of my pre-req's at TWU but I'm in the process of retaking 3 classes which I got B's in and so far I've got A's in each. It should bump my GPA up to a 3.9 or really close to it. This thread has really helped! I love this website and all the support people give to each other. Thanks for all those who helped! I won't give up. I'll be reapplying for Fall and retaking my NET!
