Parkland ER Nurse Residency 2012
Yes, I will let you know what I find out. Only asking because the SICU residency does 3-6 months on day, then 3-6 months night for the two year period up to 15 months maximum until you get the shift you want. That is nice.

Parkland ER Nurse Residency 2012
I have a question that maybe y'all will know the answer to. When I interviewed, i received a sheet in a purple packet called "Quick Facts". On bottom right hand corner, it talks about how we are scheduled. We are given a two week schedule based on the highest demand shift (night shift almost 100%) and then when the two weeks is over, we repeat that schedule for the entire 2 year contract. That means our schedule will not change for the whole two years. Am I reading that correctly or did y'all remember anything else from interview that was said otherwise?

Parkland ER Nurse Residency 2012
Perhaps, they are doing it by school affiliation? X number from here and X number from there? Who knows. Congrats to all who have received confirmation and good luck to those who have not.

UTA Second Degree Fast Track Program
I ended up doing the regular program, but I have heard through various people and professors that a lot of the students were failing foundations for nursing and that they were not quite sure how they were going to help those students. They were not failing because the course was bad, but rather because they were working full time and thinking they could get away with doing the work half way and studing half way. What you put into the program is what you get back from it.

IVPB flow rates
scifihippie, do you have any advice on the foundations hesi? I am taking that soon, and have been answering all the questions I can find online and in the back of my foundations book. Do you feel like you were well prepared or do you think there was something else you could have done to prepare yourself? Any advice at all helps. thanks.

UTA Spring 2010
you have to take that class at UTA as well as pharm and patho, unless you have pre-approval from an advisor to take it elsewhere.

UTA Spring 2010
dang. that's a lot (94 questions)! We only had 19 questions from new content. btw, I had a chance to see the lightweight littman, and the end of it is not plastic; it's just made out of a light metal. So I will most likely be getting that one (95% sure). My mom has two friends who have been in nursing for over 20 years, and they both recommended that one. Also, they said that people steal them all the time, so they advised to not spend a lot of $$.

UTA Spring 2010
hey, I took pharm online, and yes it was reallllllly hard since the final was cumulative. Is yours cumulative as well? I was lucky that my other grades were way higher than what I made on the final. But in all honesty, I didn't spend much time reviewing what I had learned all semester; I spent most of my time learning the new material that was going to be on the final. I should have spent more time reviewing the old stuff. My final was 75 questions, and we had 1.5 mins to answer each question (since it was online). Good luck you guys! If you have any more questions, let me know!

UTA Spring 2010
wow...she needs an 88? Daaang. That is going to be pretty hard, but hopefully she can do it! I know you will do great. Just remember this is everything you have ever wanted!! My class is going great, thanks for asking! I finished intro about a month ago, since it was online. And pharm I finished in the summer. So, right now, I'm just taking patho. It is hard and a challenge, and I need to make a B on this test to keep my B. Hopefully, I will! I am not used to making B's; I don't like it, but I figured that I have worked so hard that it's ok this time :) Hopefully your classes are going great misspink!

TWU Spring 2010
good question! I don't know. Also, they canceled the fast track program, so you might want to see if they canceled the weekend program as well.

UTA Spring 2010
hey ayeisha!! Wow, that test must have been really hard!! I would be scared too if I were in your shoes. I know you can do it though!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what went wrong on your last test? Like maybe you focused on the wrong thing or you made little mistakes? Have you talked to the prof? Just focus on passing so you can start in the Spring with us!! So you said you are borderline pharm, but what about patho? Are you doing OK in there? About the orientation, I don't even see that link on my Webct when I log in. I just have Pharmacology listed as a course, which I took back in the summer.

UTA Spring 2010
So, I keep checking webct, but I can't find anything that says Nursing Orientation on mine. Wonder why that is? Do you guys still have that on yours? I know we were supposed to get an email at the end of November telling us when orientation info was available on webct and all the info was released to us. But today is Nov. 30, so I'm just curious as to when we will find out. Have you guys heard anything at school?

TWU Spring 2010
how is yalls studying going for patho? I think I finally have the hang of this class, considering it's our fourth test, that doesn't say much lol. After Monday, we only the have the final, which is only 4 chapters instead of 5. yay. I just can't wait to finish this test so I can enjoy thanksgiving and go shopping. :)

UTA Second Degree Fast Track Program
yes, everything is online. thanks for the congrats, but I have actually chosen to decline my spot and do the regular 2 year program. I am tired of taking classes online (I took some pre-reqs online) and lost motivation. I know that classes in person will be better for me.

UTA Second Degree Fast Track Program
yah, I don't know about the other UT's. Strange. No, I didn't take gen chem just for UTA. I had taken it for my first degree since I had a minor in chemistry. They wouldn't even take my higher level chemistry courses that I had an A in, like organic chemistry, which is way harder. It had to be gen chem. I had taken intro to chem for TWU last december, so my GPA would be higher; they take intro.

UTA Second Degree Fast Track Program
No, it's not negotiable at all. I had gen chem with a B in it, and intro with an A in it. I was hoping they would take the intro grade, but they took the gen chem even when I asked them to take the intro. Honestly gen chem is just like intro. I did not see the difference!
