Toxic work environment
Inputs are greatly appreciated. How to deal with a toxic work environment? - I worked at a hospital where coworkers appear to be nice and supportive at your face, however I realized lately they have been talking about me behind my back for a while. Anytime there is a disagreement between coworkers, it gets accelerated straight to the administration. I am talking about very tiny things which they could have discussed in person instead. -The other thing is that they like to constantly reminding me that I am the "nurse" and they are the "doctor". - On top of this, there are certain computer stations in the hospital are "reserved" for specific doctors. One time I was told to leave this particular computer because this desk/computer is "his office". Granted it is actually the hospital computer and he didn't pay a penny for it. - At the beginning, I thought this is solely my experience. Over time, I have heard from other nurses/APPs with similar complaints. I even heard from a doctor who is emphasized with us that this place has a "bad culture". Have you guys ever in the similar situation? What is the best way to handle these situations?

ANCC contact hours for renewal
I am due to renew my ANCC certification. They mentioned on their website- "At least 51% of your continuing education hours must be related to your certification specialty". I am certified as Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP, but I have been practicing in palliative care field. Therefore, most of my CEs are in palliative care. Any of your guys know anything about the CEs requirement for renewal?

Can ANP works as PMHNP?
Thank you so much everyone! These information are so helpful. I am so glad I asked here. Previously I was told by other NPs that it is possible to get trained to be a PMHNP without schooling, now I see the legal aspects of it.

Hospice nurse practitioner salary
I recently offered a PRN/part time hospice nurse practitioner job. They offered $50/hr for consultation calls and home assessment fee $200 per patient. Do you think this is fair for NPs with little under one year experience? I have no experience in hospice as a NP.

Where do you practice as a NP?
I am curious what specialty of NP are you all currently working in? I am currently working for a private practice seeing patients at a Nursing home/Rehab center. It's flexible and I can chart from home. The downside is you have to do a lot of care coordination (e.g. talking to families/MD, goals of care discussion, etc.) and sometimes it can be draining.
