  1. I am in the same boat as you, I feel your pain. I hope the second time around will be better - it's like I completely blanked on the exam and I know I failed so many easy questions, how could I have possibly passed the harder ones? I still have no understanding of how this test works I'm totally kicking myself.
  2. Algernon - thanks for this post. As someone who failed as well (with studying) - I am in definite need of perspective. Would I like to have not called my manager to tell her about my situation? Um yes of course. But at least I still have another job right? I can retake in 45 days and hopefully pass then. I think the worst is that it's screwing with my confidence - but I came out of my test knowing I did not do anything right and forgot all the stuff people told me when I was going through it. It was weird, it was like I winged it, which is unlike me, but what can I do? It's over with and I need to move on to the next plan. Anyways, I just wanted to say I appreciated your perspective. 2nd times a charm, right? 8-)
  3. I feel the same way about my test, although I'm pretty sure I failed with 75. I looked up like 10 questions I wasn't sure of later on and I know I put the wrong answer down for them, and I guess I feel as though they were relatively easy so I'm damn sure I didn't get the hard ones right either and the computer shut of at 75. I had 1 med calc and a ton of priority that did not involve ABCs really, so I know I did bad on that. I wonder how I can do this the second time around?
  4. I feel the same way. Maybe it was test materials overkill? I too did Kaplan, NSCBN and Saunders. All I know is that I completely choked when I got to sit down and do the test. I hope the second (or third or fourth time) is a charm for us all! I'm planning on doing Suzanne's plan.
  5. I'm finding a lot of hospitals have new grad programs that require a BSN to be considered for. Other postings require a BSN just for the job (especially for the hospitals that have or are trying to get Magnet status). I always apply anyway...but I see so many places in the Chicagoland area moving toward BSN (at least by their job description) that I'm beginning to become disenheartend. But I some places must still hire new grad ASNs, right?
  6. I am in desperate need of help. I just graduated with my ASN and got my license, but so many employers in the Chicago area are just hating on my ASN. I have so many doors closed on me due to my degree not being a BSN, I feel like I am going to lose my mind (including my two current employers). I know the economy sucks, and I know that there is not really a nursing shortage around here, but I was hoping that if anyone knows of or works at a hospital that they know will hire ASN new grads, they could list it here so I can call and apply. As long as it's in Chicago/Suburbs even Northern Indiana, I don't care. I will drive, I will do anything to get a chance to be a bedside nurse. Please help!
