Do not buy your books from the website that Galen gives you. Compare half and amazon and you will save a fortune on books. YOu can get new books from amazon for much cheaper usually than on edmap. Also and it may have changed as I am about to go into fourth quarter but I bought a med. terminology book for 1st quarter that I never even used. It was a huge waste of money. If you are good at studying you may be fine without the books I didn't have one single book second quarter and did fine. When I didn't understand a topic and needed further clarification I just copied pages from the books in the library. Good luck to all!

Thanks for all of your words of encouragement and for the honest comments about the program. I was worried because of the pass rate mainly. Right now I have like a 3.8 and have passed all of our CPE;s on the first attempt. I will def. be looking into it. I would like to work full time as an LPN when I graduate for experience instead of just doing school full time for another year but we will see :) Thanks again!

I am a current LPN student who will be graduating next month. I have considered joining excelsior college as I have 100 hours toward a bachelors already from a previous degree. However, I was wondering what some people thought of the program. Does it prepare you for the nclex exam? Is it worth the money? And what is the pass rate for CPNE's? I was on another website where not one person has anything good to say about the program. From there I gather that over 50% of the people taking them fail more than once. I can get my asn where I am at now and the pass rate is really good for our CPE's we may have 5 of 100 fail and our nclex pass rate is 80% first try. I want to graduate and not waste my time but at the same time I would like to go to a quality school where I actually have a good chance at learning the material the way I need to to pass. If anyone has any thoughts about this program I would love to hear.

Hey I couldn't figure out how to message you back. I am really new to this. I ordered medium but I could wear from small-large. You don't start clinicals until the third week wow. I have clinical orientation on thursday and then clinicals every thursday after that. Are you in the day program?

hey yeah I am tomorrow :) I am in group A how about you? I made a mistake when I ordered. I didn't have the money because I had just bought books and just paid $750 for tuition so I opted to pay later. What I didn't know was pay later meant before its shipped. So I ordered them today but I will have nothing for Thursday which is really bad! I am hoping maybe someone ordered multiples and I can buy from them if there is no other way. Oh I did e-mail Angie as well and I will probably talk to her tomorrow sometime if possible!

Speaking of the uniforms. I won' t have mine in time for clinicals because I just got enough money to pay today. Does anyone know how to contact former students to buy uniforms from them? I am willing to pay whatever I have to for the top I just need a seller.

i start at galen tomorrow and my top for clinicals still has not come in. i don't have clinicals until thursday. i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get one of if anyone had an extra say you bought two that i could buy from you and give you my new one and soon as it comes in or just pay you for it. i opted to pay later because i had just bought all of my books and failed to notice that it wouldn't ship until i paid. well i just paid today so there is no way i will have it and i can't miss the first clinical. if anyone knows of anyone who could help me with this. i don't want your top i am willing to buy it from you or to trade an old one for my new one just let me know.
