  1. hello, i think i have an answer to your problem. california boards will be more difficult to deal with in many many ways cos don't forget, this state is just as big as a country by it'self with the 4th largest economy in the world and ny that it takes longer to do everything here, my advice to you and perhaps the best is to continue taking the exams with vermont boards and after you pass, you can just apply for reciprocity to any state. Since california is a non-compact state, you risk having your application suspended if they found out that you apply for two states boards, cos it was not neccesary for you to do that even though i understand you probably did that just to see which will have be faster. and now that vermont approved you, just forget about california until you pass the exam, you can be in california and take the exams for vermont boards cos pearsonvue is nationwide, just show your ATT. take my advise and don't complicate your situation.good luck
  2. YOU ARE ACTUALLY TOO YOUNG!!I hope you knew you were not that old at 45 to even seek a second opinion, but hehe!, i'm not trying to judge you or anything. The oldest lady in my class was 59, not only that, she and her husband at one time owned a multiBillion dollar manufacturing company employing more than 2000 worker before something unimaginable happened(not devorce but company bankrupcy). I thought she was just telling me stories so i said if her story was true, then i will expect to see something on the internet about their company, so i tried and lol, there she was (her Picture) with the story about how she and her husband fell from glory. till this day i could not understand why they did not save enought for retirement under the circumstances and for her to return to school. So the answer is no, i are too young TO BE PRECISE..
  3. If indeed it only took you 45 minutes to answer all those qxns, then i will only assume that you are one of the very good students and also, you were very focussed, and by this, i mean you should be 95% sure of passing. I can see myself using 90 minutes on 75 qxns at the minimum. Good luck new RN.
  4. 9. thanks guys for this input, for some reason, i never came across a question where i have to use maslow to eliminate teaching as a psychosocial need, glad i know now before my wxams next week, can i say it's another way God is trying to prepare me?, he knows i need no more surprises on this exams.
  10. hearts, i'm in the same boat with you. Am taking it on the same date at 2 pm in cali. Maybe we can pray for each other, i hate to say am not ready since we all know the nursing content cannot really be exosted. keep me informed.
  11. Hi theresa, are you dead yet?, if not then there is hope and you can always change, even at 35 yrs but i suspect you might want to start now. thanx and don't be too sensitive to the word death.
  12. this is very helpful val, see, i'm a male nurse and was never into the L&B thing during clinicals, i once remembered a client refused me coming into her delivery area even though she agreed during the early stages of her labor process so since then i wasn't into it much. anyway thanks and will let you know if i have more qxns.
  13. thanks so much for the exp. but i wanted also to know if choice D, teaching abt tampons use is psychosocial need or physical need, rational said it's psycho together with option A
  14. I see u are a L&D nurse, is this really how the fetus is assessed in the hospital. Anyway, i am testing next week and i have problem with this fetus diagrams, is there any way you can help me figure this things out once and for all? or atleast for the exam?, i will really appreiate and thank 4now, lvn, reading for rn
  15. Hello hall of famers, can't believe next week thursday is aproaching that fast, pharm is my real weakness but God will be with me that day. I need a clarification on the qxn below, Qxn: Nurse is caring for a 23 yr old female toxic shock syndrome, which of the following should the nurse do to the patient first? A. Seat with patient to reassure her B. Administer 0.9% nacl at 180cc/hr in left forearm C. Admit Cipro 400mg IV q12hrs or D. Teach patient to use pads instead of tampons during her menstrual period Now here's my question, in the rational for the choices , option D was eliminated on the bases that it's psychosocial, why is that? because i was thinking D was physiological, if so can you explain hint me on other psychosocial prepositions? i know option A is psychocial. Also coud you guys send me NMEMONICS, i need them now than ever. I also need dif. btn Cron's and Ulcerative colitis, plz make it simple and short cos my brain is in fluid overload status! running low on storage but will delete after exams.
  16. What was their rational for A pal?, i thought it will have to be LOP, left ociput Posterior but am confused, i know the PMI, or baby can be felt most at it's back right?, am testing next week, hope we would get help be4 then, it may be one of my qxns, who knows haha!
  17. we can force some change to this system. they can do better producing the results and should do so. if you question the boards, they will likely tell you "this is how is been done since the beginning and it works, in this modern computer world, the waiting is not working anymore. by the time the computer shuts down, a determination is made if you pass or failed so why the wait???. unfortunately once you guys get your results, you move on letting this bad experience become someone else’s problem, passing the anxiety to the next guy who will wait again and again just like you earlier.
  18. i personally think those old and nearing retirement nurses that are working in these various bons (board of nurses) departments are also part of the problem, they are slow to technological improvements and also do not want to embrace any new ideas, frankly why should nurses wait this long when most of the other health professionals such as nuclear technologists, therapists, and many more normally finds out upon shutting off of the test computers as to whether they pass or fail???. this wait is very anxious and family members keep asking if you pass or fail. it's time we modernize our nclex test delivery method just as the new government is doing to our rail road system, the health care system, and to education. i have passed my exams in another state and i'm currently doing reciprocity to california and again, there's so much wait, was told to wait 4-6 weeks, so it's always one hurdle to clear after another and i'm still sitting at home waiting for my ca license, frankly i believe they can do better. maybe we the students may have to organize and put some heat on this folks. haven't said all this, i'm also mindful that is not all the workers are old and slow, i'm also aware of bureaucratically orchestrated obstacles, internal competitions and perhaps budgetary restraints so...... but seriously guys, there are only three things i can advice you to do whiles waiting for your exams, first wait, second keep waiting, and third continue to wait, that's what i did and if you pass or even fail, remember everything happens for a reason. good luck.
  19. O.k guys, i know this sounds crazy but i failed my RN exams recently and now badly in need of cash for many things including re-registering in a class this time e.g KAPLAN before takingb the RN again, so my questions is this: can i try the PN test, on the bases that it may be a bit easier, start making some money and also start working in the hospital getting some experience before retaking the RN in the future?. i already spoke with my Board of nursing and they said i can do that. Also could you guys kindly tell me what areas i need to concentrate on for the LPN exams so as not to cross-over?. I already know i will be taking the RN again so don't advice me to re-take the RN now, i'm going to have to prepare in a whole different way before re-taking the RN cos i realised i have forgotten a few things due to a break in my nursing education to respond to a family problem, i however manage to finish but realised i have to go way back and polish up. Waiting for your responses and thank you for writing.
