PRN / Full time/ pros and cons
Very good thoughts! That'd be great if I had my hubbies still here! It would be sweet if your hubbies place had decent benefits then you could actually work less but get more pay per hour than a full timer! Thank you for your response!

PRN / Full time/ pros and cons
Yes more flexibility, retiring in 5 or 6 years. I have a granddaughter now in Florida and would like to take off and go for a week but that is hard working FT. I was just wondering if there are nurses on here that have gone PRN and don't regret it! Thank you very much for your response!

PRN / Full time/ pros and cons
Wanting to have more flexibility with my schedule. But have always been FT for benefits and pto. What are your opinions for pros and cons? I am widowed and my last child just graduated from high school. He is 18 and I have others under 26 whom I pay for health insurance. Any suggestions for better options. All healthy! Thanks!

How do you get experience in a specialty if they wont hire you to get that experience?
I graduated in 2010, wanted to go in to NICU. I could not find a job bc of lack of experience. I worked in the ED and loved it and then went to Home Health for the past 4+ years. How can I get hired for a Pre op job when they say I need experience in pre op, or NICU ...same thing. Anyone experience this? Anyone have suggestions? :)

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
I am afraid that I will be that one person ... who did the pvt... got the good pop up ... and Failed I should know later today... I had a couple of my friends do it from school too and one of them had a 4.0 ! She got the good pop up and the other one did too. After sitting in there taking 240 ?'s while all of them walked out..... I dunno!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Hello fellow allnurses.com users! Yesterday after I took the boards I was feeling defeated... it was really hard and I know that you ALL know what I mean... so I got on here searching for support and ran across the pearson vue "trick" thread... I read and read and of course I tried it (out of curiosity) I got the "good" pop up but gosh darn it... I just took the test yesterday and I am petrified that I failed! I was comforted to know how many of you took the boards a second time and some thirds and fourths... I admire the fortitude! I wanted to start this thread to condense the "pvt" posts into a results based thread... I thought in the subject line we could put which test nclexrn nclexpn nclexlpn etc... then a P or F for pass or fail or ? (if awaiting results) pvt (GPU or BPU for good pop up or bad pop up) and K R A (for Kaplan, Rayfield ATI reviews) which one ya did... then in your post add anything about your experience with nclex or reviews or the pearson vue trick or just basic support for each other... we all need that! I think it will be interesting to see what worked... what didn't ... I am so freaked out waiting for the results and I really don't know if I wanna do the quick results! GOOD luck to all who await and congrats to those who passed... if you failed keep going for it and don't stop till you get there!
