  1. I like birth plans, this one included. It's great when a woman knows what she wants. This quote is a little odd, makes me wonder where she is getting her information. Yeah, its funny, but I am not falling over with glee just because she said nice things about my profession. Minerva "I am open to drugs of any sort, any kind any time. This includes Ivs, epidurals, pills and anything else you have available. If I am standing in front of you for any reason on or near my due date and there is even a remote chance I am staying, I want my epidural just after I introduce myself. Seriously. I am NOT interested in a natural delivery. Not even one iota. Not one. I am bottle feeding. It isn't popular I know but thats the way it is. So don't even try to talk me out of it. My mom has tried and failed. It isn't happening."
  2. It is a small world and in fact I know the midwife you are bashing on this forum. Please be more descrete with your posts. It would be nice if you could not mention school names and/or the state you are from. Thanks, Minerva
  3. Jeez, I get it! I wasn't even thinking when I put "female" down, I guess I would have written male nurse if it had been a man who did the exam. I'm sorry I have ofended everyone with my blatently sexist comments.
  4. I am so sorry you went through such a horrible and violent "exam." I makes sick that a (male or female) nurse would act in that manner. I hope everything goes well for you and your baby! Minerva
  5. I have read both of the books you ordered. I liked Diary, but not as much as Baby Catcher. Immaculate Deception II is a facinating read and some of the topics are controversial. It may offend some people, but I enjoy hearing new opinions on childbirth. You have made some good choices!! Enjoy your reading. Nerva
  6. The market varies from state to state. I have lived in two midwife friendly states. Please don't ever abandon your dreams based on negative news reports. You should do what you really want in life, even if that means debt (trust me I know all about debt). Eventually things always work out the way they should and if you love midwifery, you will find a job. Minerva
