Are you referring to the skills CD-ROMS that are included with the book? if so, your instructor has to give you the code.

*Weird* Patient Allergies
I list 5 as allergies, but 2 are true, and the other 3 I just don't want due to very unpleasant side effects. Toradol put me into anaphylactic shock, morphine makes me break out in hives. Phenergan burned my hand veins, reglan messes up my bowels (I have IBS) and NSAIDs upset my stomach way too much ...

Where Did you Work While in School? Pay & Hours.
I'm currently in Nursing school and work full-time at Kohl's. Fortunately I get to make my own schedule and am able to study at work (heck, I even brought my laptop in and did a care plan last week!) I make $13.75 an hour, and have good insurance. Finally found the man I want to settle down with and if things go the way they're heading, I may quit for my last year and get on his insurance.

morphine,dilaudid,demerol
The hospital I am doing my clinicals at uses primarily Dilaudid. On a personal note, I can't have morphine (hives at the injection site) or phenergan (makes me freak out) or toradol (anaphlaxis)...so when the lovely kidney stones (of which I've had 8) rear their head, 1mg of Dilaudid usually does the trick to ease the pain, usually combined with 25mg of Benadryl.

Pharmacology
Try to learn mnemonic devices or traits among the drugs. Like most ACE Inhibitors end in "pril", most Beta Blockers end in "olol". Good luck!

Msn vs. Bsn
I have a bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Political science. I worked in the field for a few years, but decided (after having a lot of acute med probs) to go into nursing. My local community college has one of the best nursing programs in the state, and at $70 a credit hour, very much affordable. So I'm just doing my ADN now, and want to work at Univ of Michigan and probably get my BSN or MSN there.
