New mom trying to prepare for nclex -rn
Hey guys, I am a new mom,who is preparing for the Nclex-RN exam. However,I am a little confused.I am torn between the Saunders Comprehensive Review, and the Saunders 4 weeks online course.I am also confused about whether or not I need to read the whole book front to back.I had started studying back in 09,however I begun to find it hard to concentrate.I kept trying and trying, but it was not happening.I started feeling unwell so I went to the doctor and found out that I was pregnant.I was diagnosed with anemia (hemaglobin was 7).Since that time I have not been able to focus (still struggling with anemia) ,but I am fighting until I can no longer fight. Thank you in advance for your comments. Chavelle.

Everyone using prioritization, delegation, and assignment book by linda lacharity
According to Saunders online review, passing the exam is not about how many questions you answer correctly. You are asessed based on the level that you are functioning at.If you are above the passing standard then you pass,if you are below then you fail.So if you answer 40 questions but you only get 15 right,15 difficult questions, you could still pass.

update on UK TO USA
I did the adult branch nursing in the UK (project 2000)then moved to United States.I had my credentials evaluated by CGFNS and was made eligible by the BON to sit the NCLEX.I was already a permanent resident when I submitted my application.I waited about six months for CES report.I am about to schedule my appointment to sit the NCLEX. Hope I am not off topic

GA BON has not received my CES report!
I know that I cannot sit the exam without CES, that is why I applied for it. However, I cannot help it if they have lost my report.CGFNS can prove that it has been received by GA BON. GA board is responsible to order another one. I only mention NY state because I have seen Suzanne's posts about getting initial licensure in NY state due to less hassle.I do believe what she advised. whenever I read her advices it always turns out to be accurate. You can endorse without so much hassle. If it takes six months I am ok with it if thats the norm, not making mistakes and delaying my report, which is why I had to wait six months. Thank you for your reply. Chavelle.

GA BON has not received my CES report!
I won't pay for it as CGFNS can prove that they received it.I am sooooo sorry that I did not see Susan's advice before I went a head and apply to GA BON. I should have done my research first.I've seen people applied to NY BON with absolutely no problems at all.I would advise anyone to take Susan's advice about applying to NY state for initial licensure.GA BON will have to pay for another report .

GA BON has not received my CES report!
Hey guys, After waiting almost six months to have my CES report issued by CGFNS;GA BON have not received my report.I have been in contact with CGFNS and they have confirmed that the report was sent electronically as well as by mail.I have already received my copy ,over two weeks now.The last time I called;they asked me to order another report from CGFNS.No one will return your emails/phone calls though they promised to do so. I am a UK nurse. My report shows that my secondary education is comparable to a USA high school diploma,my nursing education is comparable to a USA registered general nurse.Just thought that I would mention this due to the fact that many UK nurses are wondering about making up hours. It all depends on your nursing school back home in the UK. Any advice guys? Chavelle.

What does this mean?

What does this mean?
Thanks a lot! I meant in terms of deficiency in my credentials.I was wondering if everything is ok where my credentials concerned. Thanks. Chavelle.

What does this mean?
Hello all, Please don't laugh at me for asking this question! When you check your CGFNS status online and it says: Secondary school diploma-"meets all program requirements for the service" License -"meets all program requirements for the service" -transcript-"meets all program requirements for the service." What does that mean? See, I am planning to resume my review of the Saunders comprehensive book, however, I am not sure if I will be given the green light to sit the exam.I wanted to take the exam in April, however, I have decided that I need more time to prepare.I am planning on taking it in May. Thanks in advance. Chavelle. P.S. my report has already been issued,I have not received my copy though.

Have noticed racist threads right here in the past two days!
I am a UK nurse who came here not because of wanting to work here, but because of my family. Therefore,I have to work here or be dependent on my husband/relatives for financial support, which is not how we function back in the U.K.Most UK nurses who I am aware of,came here to their family. Most of the white folks here are from Europe, which includes the U.K. I cannot see anything racist about people being concerned about the influx of philippines nurses.Back in the U.K. people were fuming about the heavy influx of philippine too.I was one of them,as I was about to finish nursing school and there were no jobs due to the amount of nurses from the philippines. This does not mean that I am racist? There are many, many more philippines nurses here than there are U.K nurses. On the other hand,U.K. nurses will not accept a position if they are not going to be paid the same as U.S nurses.Would you be happy if U.K or USA nurses should flock the philippines causing you not to get a job? Yes,racism does exist here, however, this is not a race issue,in my opinion. What is the point of having a sick nurse on the floor? to watch you work,or to collapse in order to prove that he/she is indeed ill? From what I know, nurses should NOT be judgemental! Judging your colleague who is off sick is not a good idea. The same way you judge your colleague;you will judge your patients. You should empathize with your colleagues, not judging them. P.S Native Americans are Indians. Chavelle.

held to ransom by CGFNS
Hello. I, too am from the UK.I have encountered the same problems with CGFNS.I had to threaten to contact congress to have them act on my behalf.I did not finish high school due to bereavement in the family.I, however, went to college and completed a two year course as substitute (similar to high school diploma).I submitted this as my secondary diploma,it met all program requirements for the service. However, when it was time to issue my report,I was told that they need to research the document. This is after waiting for almost six months (they had the document in question since November last year .)I was really mad at the evaluator who was responsible for the mess.A day later,my report was issued.I went online to check my status and saw: "Meets all program requirements for the service" for my secondary diploma,my transcript and license.Still not sure what this means though. You have to contact customer service and ask them for the extension of your evaluator,if this doesn't happen then ask for the QUALITY ASSURANCE TEAM when you call. They also made a lot of errors with the evaluation of my transcript. The director at my nursing school was fuming with them for their incompetency. This is a long story so I won't even bother to go into it. Which university did you do your training? Good luck. Chavelle.
