  1. HANDS DOWN best ER in NYC is Lenox Hill Hospital. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more. I have TONS to tell you!
  2. You need experience before you can become per diem.
  3. Chilton Memorial is horrible. They have a saying that they do things their way and it's called "Chiltonism". Well they are really behind the times. I'm an experienced nurse and I only lasted 3.5 months. They also don't compensate for a BSN. Look elsewhere....
  4. You are not "double taxed" so people please stop saying that. You also don't get taxed in NYC unless you are a resident of NYC. Feel free to PM me....I can give you an email address. I worked in NYC. Live in NJ. Lived in NY. I know it because I've done it. You pay taxes to the state you are a resident of. NOT in the state you are worked. Yes NY deducts taxes from your pay check but that gets credited to NJ, so you either pay a difference or get a refund. NOW THAT IS ACCURATE INFORMATION.
  5. Do not work at Bergen Regional Medical Center. Stay far away. Never worked there but it's a disaster. I read in the paper they had a drawer full of pre-typed consents for when patients needed surgery and just had patients sign the pre-printed consents. This has been written up by the state. Its a community hospital and basically FULL of psychiatric and prison in-mates. Why are you considering two hospitals so far apart ? Which do you live closer to ?
