Pace University BSN/MA- Westchester, Spring 2010
i am just forwarding an email ; The Lienhard School of Nursing will no longer begin undergraduate clinical rotations in the spring semester. The initial clinical sequence will only be offered during fall semesters. There may be limited opening for next series which will begin in fall 2010. xxxxxxxx xxxxxx (name of the director) Director Office of Undergraduate Admission – Westchester Pace University I have 72 credits from a community college with 3.70 gpa. I am done with all pre-requises. So, i didnt apply to this school for spring 10. I will try fall 10 My question is if you got in this school for spring 10. and they dont offer any clinical. So, which classes they are going to teach? mostly bio or psy?

Any Nursing Applicants For Fall 2009?
I coudnt get into BMCC program with 3.77 gpa for 4 pre reqs and 3.86 for overall. I seen many students changed their major from nursing to others because of this issue. So, I have learned from bmcc one thing; if you wanna earn something u have to pay either with money or your time. There are plenty schools and they have many different reqs. I have seen a student who works in CNN as a writer got a C+ from english 101 by part time teacher even Eng chair says you should have all A`s. Some Cuny teachers or departments especially nursing deps can be nasty. I understand your points because many people choose easy profs to get A`s but eventually they cant make it in their first nursing semester, thats why in bmcc overall 15/18 out of 30/35 people fail to nursing fundamental. :typing

Best School for Me - NYC
i couldnt get into nursing program at bmcc with 3.77 gpa because my eng 101. one of my friend who is a part time writer at CNN got C- from english 101 Bmcc. Eng Dep Chair says; he should gets all As. Are you looking for something fair at bmcc? they allow between 500-600 people to pre-clinical but only max 105 to clinical. be smart and dont waste your time because most college doesnt accept their some classes.

Thank you very much your respond and just wanna wish to you happy thanksgiving. I already applied to program as u mention.Just waiting the phone call or at least a sit for who is not going to show up! LIU you talking about these requirements? Maintaining a minimum 2.5 cumulative average Maintaining a minimum 2.5 Nursing cumulative average Earning a grade of C+ or better in each Nursing course Repeating no more than one Nursing course Earning a B or better in any repeated Nursing course Fulfilling all clinical clearance requirements prior to the beginning of each clinical Nursing course Attending a mandatory hospital-orientation program each semester Demonstrating competency in drug-dosage calculation during specified semesters Demonstrating competency in the clinical laboratory courses Passing both lecture and clinical portions of courses with a laboratory section Participating in the Community Service Project (for a total 100 hours)I am also considering to get my master degree in nursing for future so i am also thinking to apply 4 years colleges. there are few colleges in nyc as you aware and liu is easy to get in and hard to stay in my mind. :typingCould you correct my mistake if any but, if I graduate after LIU and find a job in any area. are there any companies or hospitals will forgive my loan? My point is rather then wait in BMCC or other Cuny colleges which very hard to get in without 4 gpa for a long time. just focus to study in LIU or ect.. and after graduate let the hospitals pay your loan or pay back from your own pocket:twocents:. In my view point, I guess studing 4 years in these colleges much better rather then wait ( i mean wait not into program) to get into these schools (cuny or even hunter) i have heard a lot of bad things about prof.green who teachs nur 112. One of my friends got accepted with 3.77 gpa in spring 07 after 7 people did not show up and she told me that 16 out of 35 could not pass! Because they didn`t study hard or prof.green issue.

From KBCC to Hunter College or......
hello all and NY dreamer, I`m attending at BMCC and got 3.75 gpa for pre-reqs classes. Bmcc nursing program is very very hard to get into like other cuny schools. But, i dont want to spend my time while waiting for no reason. I am considering to register to LIU. 1- How much LIU nursing BS cost approximately? 2- is it worth? 3- how hard/easy to find a job for new graduates ? 4- what date is the deadline to register this school for next coming semester? 5- I took English I and II,a math class for health,A&P I,General Psychology, speech,Intro sociology, fundamental chemistry. What other classes should i take ? (like A&P II,Dev psy, etc) 6- Should I just apply to LIU to finish all pre-req classes or take some other classes at BMCC? ($ issue) 7- is there any advantages/disadvanteges to register/finish 4 years colleges rather then 2 years colleges? tyvm

Looking for a good nursing school to get into? any advise?
As you aware, there are many schools with different requirements. 1- Did you finish some classes like A&P I and II, Microbiology,General Psychology, etc ? 2- where did u get you your 2 years degree? I heard there are some schools in NY upstate and NJ areas which accept students around with 2.5 gpa. You may retake some required nursing classes to get 4 or close to 4 gpa in local community college. Those schools accept very small amount of student and they only accept best of them. I dont think they count your 2 years degree. They only concern how and when you take required nursing classes.

they accept like 80 students per semester then after lottery 70 student may register. That`s what I heard. Also, you GPA should 4 or very close to 4 to register. Are u in any nursing program?

You mean you have an Associate degree in liberal art? Even if u have a degree or not, there are some 2 or 4 years nursing programs u may interest to register ; Some 2 years; beth israel http://www.futurenursebi.org/ Long island College hospital http://www.futurenurselich.org/ bronx CC http://www.bcc.cuny.edu/degreeprograms/degreeprograms.cfm?DegreeID=23 Hostos CC www.hostos.cuny.edu/oaa/PDF/Nursing.pdf Kingborough CC http://www.kbcc.cuny.edu/academicDepartments/nursing/programinformation.htm LaGuardia CChttp://www.lagcc.cuny.edu/NAS/NAS2K.htm Queensborough CChttp://www.qcc.cuny.edu/nursing/clinical_application.asp Saint Vincent Catholic School queenshttp://www.svcmc.org/body.cfm?id=758 St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center http://www.svcmc.org/body.cfm?id=758 4 years ; lehman hunter wagner NYU Columbia LIU There are many nursing programs in NY and they have different course requirements. I just posted few in NYC Metrapolitan area. Therefore, try to finish all common classes. Apply to few schools rather then stick with one for back up.

Ty for your respond.:nuke: Once u get into nursing programs in BMCC, there is another step comes up, they make lottery for every semesters for every nursing classes. if you are lucky u may register to classes asap otherwise it may takes longer. Its so annoying and i dont want that.

Looking for a good nursing school to get into? any advise?
Hello Everyone, First of all, thank you to view my post. I am currectly enrolled in BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE (BMCC) and I finished most liberal art and sience courses with 3.75 gpa:wink2: But, it seems very hard to get into cause they only allow 70 students per semester from all over nyc.(day section and another 35 for evening)) Also, it will take another two years to finish it with full time. I live in NYC (Brooklyn) I dont want to spend long time in BMCC. Because it takes so long, i would prefer to get into another short 2 years or 4 years accelerated nursing programs? So, What I would like to ask you is that you guys know any other 2 or 4 years college which affordable:twocents: and preparing me to :typing the RN exam very well? Thank you very much for all of your time in courtesy.
