  1. I guess my only input is that I go to Jackson Community College in Jackson MI and their Nursing Program policy is NO EXTRA CREDIT PERIOD! It is totally not allowed per institutional policy. I would question the program policy first...
  2. I am so glad to hear it's not just me! I have the worst acne since beginning the program. I can't wait until I graduate this May, maybe my skin will look normal again!
  3. I don't know about a laptop, but I LOVE my palm pilot for looking up drugs on epocrates!
  4. Well, I have an 18 month old and a 7 1/2 year old. IT'S TOUGH! Thanks for the kudos. Every bit of encouragement helps right now! Also a tip for everyone going through this.... Help eachother. Really. My friends and I do babysitting swaps. A classmate of mine was assigned a bum shift for clinicals and couldn't figure out how to do it. She was in tears and thought she'd have to drop. Well, I got a night shift and she had days, needless to say, I watch her baby on wed and thurs just to help. No money required. If we could all do something like that, how easy would it be for everyone?!?!!??
  5. Your post made me smile. (Really) I am the ONLY one in my clinical group that liked our instructor. He was tough, yes. He really pushed us to do more and find skills to learn. He probably gave us more credit than we deserved by having too much confidence in our skills! That being said, the other groups say how lucky they are to leave early, get out of a day d/t their instructor being ill, etc. etc.... Is there any way that this is good???? Not in my eyes. My very first clinical day I did 2 IM injections and D/C'd a JP drain. Here it is 8 weeks later and some of the other groups have only passed meds and done bedding changes and baths. I think we were very fortunate to have someone "riding" us and pushing us to do more and think on a higher level. Again, my opinion but there is always going to be that one person you don't like. This is a job, like any other. If you don't mesh with someone, move on. Get over it and deal with them on a professional level only. You don't need to be best friends with your instructor. You are so close to being done.... Good luck and Congrats on making it this far!
  6. I had to have one! It was a requirement here in michigan at Jackson Community College.
