  1. I just started to work in the ER. And I am also an introverted person. It is really hard to socialize but if your main reason for being there is for patient care, it wouldnt be an issue because your co workers will see that you are there for a right reason. And, most of the nurses and doctors that work in the hospital that I work with are very much introverted. It would be just fine. Just be yourself and dont try to change who you are, that is all that matters. :)
  2. Thank you guys for your inputs. Im really having a hard time planning what is best for me.
  3. Thank u very much. Yeah i was thinking of working in or. Do you have connections still in the OR where you used to work?
  4. I am a LVN in California and I have 4 years of experience in LTC. Right now, I am unemployed because I quit due to burn out. It has been 9 months of job hunting and let me tell you it is frustrating to look for a job. Very mentally and emotionally draining. On top of that, I also broke up with a boyfriend. Everything just fell apart at once. It got me thinking of whether being a LVN is really for me. I feel like being a phlebotomist is a good job for me because whenever I see needles and tournique, it really makes me excited. At the same time, the stress level that nursing gave me really really drained me as a whole. I have been in situations I never imagine I would be.And it was very difficult and challenging. Right now, I know that phlebotomist is good for me.I thought being a nurse was easy.I realized that bedside nursing is not a good fit for me.I do still wanted to be in the medical field but with less drama and politics and stress. My question is if it is worth becoming a phlebotomist instead of being a LVN?Please do advice.
  5. i like this! well said! esp the line" enjoying a great deal of career successes. " But sounds like a robot to me when you said " I am not a person with thoughts, opinions or feelings." thats kind of a person w/o heart????
  6. yeah I try to be like this but its hard because some people get jealous when I talk to different people. How do u handle this??
  7. this is getting very interesting! i see a lot of great feedbacks
  8. Nice! Oh well in my case i was also an achiever..before! Esp in highschool. But I became very lazy in terms of learning. Its safe to say that I have reached exhausion.Dont get me wrong. Im just in my twenty's. Although I still study hard, its just that the energy level wasnt the same as before. The motivation factor diminished. And that continued till now, I am as a nurse. I felt like I need to have a vacation maybe. Or maybe its just really surfacing that I can be very unenergetic sometimes.
  9. As in my case, I am just a 3 week old nurse working in LTC. So far, I am learning little by little. You could just imagine how overwhelm I feel up until now. I dont know when it will stop. But I noticed that, attitude is everything.Esp if you are new to the place and profession. For me, I could say Im a lost kid at this moment! They describe me as 'girly'. But sometimes I would prefer to be called vixen. LOL But really we all know we have this preferred image/persona that we like to be. And I chose to be mysterious and sometimes loud. I dont know! Im a mixture maybe.
  10. Working as a nurse anywhere is like students in a classroom. There are mixture various people, race, culture and mostly behaviors. I thought having a job in a working environment is different from a classroom setting. But I was wrong. Its still the same concept. A lot of intrigues, alliances, and politics. Just wanna know who are you at work? And how do you handle such conflict of personalities?
  11. I completely and understand how u feel right now!that's the reason why I made this thread in the first place.my one and only advice is don't give up! Just unwind and then when the momentum kicks in start right away!
  12. RTP seems like a good option for a review center. So far, how was it? i have tried ncsbn too for 5 weeks before. Questions are good to practice.
  13. i think its a matter of choosing ur own preference.depends. :) thanks anyway.so what are u using now?

  16. Dont pass by and pretend you didnt see me struggle to assist a patient transfer to bed. Dont look proud infront of my face that you answered a call light, where in fact I have answered tons of yours! Dont be arrogant to newbies just because you are there 6 months ahead of us.
  17. I am also a foreign graduate. Filipino to be exact.
  18. Count me in.Its my fifth, and still i failed. I dont know what to do next. Ill buy the kaplan 2011-2012. That I think will help me. Hay.Dont give up, i guess is the first step to recovery.
  19. Hello everybody, I just wanna start a thread or make a forum for those who are in the process of aiming their goals...which is to pass the nclex! we can beat this guys! At the same time, this will help those flunkers (like me!), to ease the pain of accepting and moving on and keep the ball rolling in terms of starting all over again in reviewing and reaching for our dreams, which is to be a registered nurse! Any words of wisdom and suppport is welcome. :)
  20. thank u caliotter.I appreciate your words.Yes Im keep the ball rollin .
  21. i didnt see my name in the website because, i failed.
  22. we are on the same boat. Same times of failing the nclex rn exam. I dont know what to do too. But I think I will do more on Q&A coz I did more on compre before. Check your candidate results too. Make a graph and assess which part your weaknesses are. Thats what I am doin now. Good luck to us. We can make it.
