Camps that allow you to bring children with you..
until my daughter was 5 I brought my teenage neice to look after her. Some camps will allow you to bring a baby sitter especially if it's a volunteer position.

guidelines for passing difficult starts to IV team
We are in the process of having all nurses in our health authority gradually start to do the "less difficult" IV starts and restarts. For those of you with IV teams, where the nurses on the units do most of the starts, just passing the really tough ones, do you have written guidelines that they use to determine when to defer to the team or is it just a matter of their judgement. We are trying to avoid the "six pokes before the IV team gets called" by creating guidelines. Any help would be appretiated. Thank you,

How many healthcare providers?
We have just started keeping stats at the last camp of the summer. At the last camp I was at we saw 140 campers for injuries and prns (lots of upper resp infections). Campers seen by the first aid team are also included in these stats as often the RN's are doing followup with drsgs and prn's for pain. We saw 50 staff for various issues and then about 30 campers for reg meds. The 200 number didn't include any second visits. We also did not start keeping stats until the 2nd full day of camp. As this is only the second camp I have worked at I'm not sure how these numbers relate to other camps. This is a camp for normally healthy children (lol)

How many healthcare providers?
Was just wondering howmany healthcare providers and what type are used based on total (camper and staff) number at camp. We usually have 2 RN's, an industrial first aid attendant, a first aid (basic) assistant, and numerous life guards. We have up to 400 campers at each camp and up to 200 staff. I am trying to convince the camp director that we need a 3rd RN. We see over 200 patients per week not counting repeats or scheduled meds. The RN positions are all voluntary. Thanks for your help.
