  1. Thanks for posting this and for your efforts. I have had TTM for over ten years but never found out until recently that it was a condition with a name, let alone that it can be treated. I wish I had known sooner. I'm just hoping some of the major damage I've done will grow back before I finish my preqs for the nursing program at my school...
  2. I'm a nursing student. 22 years old. Have had it for well over a decade.
  3. Used to race for Athletes by Design amateur cycling team. A few of the guys have even spent time in Europe trying to break into the pro ranks. Nowadays, I ride non-competitively, though I'd love to start racing again.

I'm starting CNA training this winter. It's an 11-week course with clinicals. It gets me working in the healthcare field sooner than if I waited to be an RN (which, if all goes according to plan, won't happen until spring 2012!). Frankly, I don't see that there's a single thing to be ashamed of, and I can't wait until January to begin. I've gotten nothing but support from friends and family in my quest to become an RN and work as a nurse. The nurses I know tell me that working as a CNA will be valuable experience, so what's to feel bad about?
  5. Starting CNA training this winter and then a year of prerequisites and then nursing school... I'm watching this thread as well. :)
  6. I'm very new here and am waiting to start a CNA program this winter, which is a prerequisite to beginning nursing school. I already have a bachelor's degree, but I'm having difficulty finding a job and I don't find the old field at all fulfilling. I'm hoping to be a pediatric oncology nurse one day. My wife seems excited about it as much as I am. Anyway... I may seek out some help soon for depression I've struggled with for a good five years, but I must admit that I'm somewhat nervous as to what effect this might have on future nursing goals. Do hospitals check what medications applicants are taking? I realize that I shouldn't just let depression slide, but if treating it medicinally could jeopardize my future career, I'd at least like to know in advance. Thank you!
