Lamar State College LVN to RN
regarding the books for Lamar; I graduated in May, I purchased them all & used them all. There was one later on in the program that they recommended, but was not required. I bought it because it was small & I was able to carry it around at work & during clinical. Email me @ [email protected] if you would like more information. Good Luck to all!!!

I've been ACCEPTED!!!
I always knew I wanted to be a nurse! I have been an LVN for 12 years!!! I finally graduated (20 May 2011) and am scheduled to take NCLEX 6/15/11.....Congratulations on getting back on the school bus!!! It is a great feeling...you will soon feel it too!! That acceptance letter is great huh?? I cried because I was not planning on being an LVN, musch less for 12 years. I had my pre-reqs to go to BSN program (traditional). Life happened and I needed to make more money at the time, so I went to LVN school. BUT here I am GRADUATED & I pray that you stand there one day!! Know GOD has great things in store for you!!! I am sure Your DAD is looking down very proud!!! FILL THAT FRAME!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

LVN needing advice if I should go for ADN or BSN then bridge to MSN. Advise plz!
I decided to go to an ADN program, because my pay status at work really changed!! Enough that I knew I could not afford myself anymore...lol. I too am pursuing my MSN; for money reasons I have to take baby steps. I have ADN, now working on BSN. I have an 8 year old son & a traveling husband; I have to take baby steps!! If you are able to live the way you are right now and go to school until MSN is done- then go for it! BUT.....you can make RN money while pursuing your BSN if you do an ADN program. The same with MSN program; you can make BSN money (management) while in that last leg of you goal. With each step, you have the ability to make more money while going to school. Just a thought...GOOD LUCK!

Lamar State College LVN to RN
I graduated from Lamar State College-PA May 20, 2011. It is very fast paced! I am more than positive that 99% of my class worked full time while in school. I have tried Excelsior- that did not work out for me. With Lamar, you are on your own but you do need to put in the effort. There are discussions, deadlines, assignments, and exams. You will always have an academic coach that you can reach out. Mine were GREAT!!! The program is affordable (which was #1 on my want list). If anyone is looking to start class soon email me [email protected] I can help answer any questions. Good luck to all

Lamar State College lvn - rn online program
I just graduated May 20th, waiting on my ATT. It can be done! I think everyone in my class worked Full Time, but you have to be dedicated to put in the hours when you get home. I missed out on many things with my family, sitting in front of the computer, doing homework (discussions), writing papers, reading, reading, and more reading. With that said; IT CAN BE DONE!!! It is done at a fast pace, but put your seat belt on and you will be fine.

Excelsior Vs College Network
I am currently an RN student (online program), and had I spent this much time on studying for an excelsior test, I would have been an RN 8 years ago. The program I am in is very demanding!!! I spend 30-35 hrs a week in books, writing discussions, replying to other discussions, taking quizzes.......not sure how they say this is for the WORKING LVN!!!!! I have had to cut back my hours big time! Excelsior College is GREAT!!!!! coming from someone who has tried BOTH! I would go to EBAY for the study guides!!! hope this helps!!

Nurses, have you been been spit on, pushed, scratched and verbally or assaulted?
It's funny because I have been there. Not being choked, but punched in jaw while bathing. We do this for the LOVE of being a nurse, NOT the money. My nursing home patients are mostly confused, but baths still need to be done right?? If it were up to some pt's they would NEVER eat, change clothes, or take showers. That is why WE are there!! Your post brought back so many memories. I am sitting here ready to QUIT RN SCHOOL because I am exhausted & failing!! I LOVE helping people....even the combative ones!!
