  1. Good luck, Jenbpt! Please keep us informed on how everything goes!!
  2. Sorry, I don't know anything about a pharmacology math test. When do we take that??
  3. Hey there, I just heard from a friend that someone from the waitlist was called up! Was it you?
  4. HI, I haven't signed up for any classes yet. Actually, I don't even have anything to take until the actual nursing classes start, but I may take something like Conversational Medical Spanish or American Sign Language just to take something and keep me busy. Are you CPR certified yet? I let my certification lapse (yikes) so I need to find a way to take a course soon. I know the school offered a one-day cert. but I don't really have any information on it. Do you know anything about it? Hope the rest of your summer is great and that we both get pulled up :)
  5. Hi there! I haven't been called up, either but I'm holding out for those last-minute dropouts Are you taking any classes this semester if you don't get a call up?
  6. I don't know if anyone's posted this one, but how about Oxy-cotton instead of OxyContin? Forgot how addictive those natural fabrics were.
  7. I found that when my Micro text/lab manual were lacking in photos of specific bugs, stains, procedures, etc the CDC's website was extremely informative! I do have to admit that I found Micro pretty easy (I was worried about the class, too). I think this site may also help you get an understanding of what the course will cover: http://scienceprofonline.googlepages.com/microbiologyhelp Ooooh, and this is pretty specific, but the topic I had the most difficulty with was DNA replication. There are some wonderful videos on YouTube that go over the lagging/leading strand concept very well when my text did not! Good luck - let me know if you ever need help!
  8. Just got a call back - we DO NOT have to attend the orientation meeting on June 25th.
  9. Great news - we DO NOT have to take Chemistry if we are on the waitlist! I just spoke to someone ( by the way...so helpful) who said we're grandfathered in! Waiting for a call back from I think she's the assistant dean to see about that meeting...will keep you guys posted!
  10. Couldn't get ahold of anyone to ask on campus yesterday. Will have to try again today. Is it the varicella skin test you're trying to have done? If so, your insurance might cover a varicella titer instead. If they don't, you might try checking around with different labs (like Quest, etc) to see if they could do it cheaper. Good luck with your medical records search!
  11. My friend (a fellow waitlister) wasn't able to make it to the meeting on May 13th, so she had a make-up meeting yesterday. According to her, they handed out papers that said we had to attend the mandatory meeting on the 25th. I never got anything like this on May 13th, so I'm going to call and double-check tomorrow (would have today, but work is way too busy!). It's supposedly from 8:30-11:30a... I still need to get my health forms in too - there was a nation-wide shortage of the Hep B vaccine so I had a hard time getting that...if it's not one thing, it's another!
  12. Hey all! Does anyone know for sure if we waitlisters who have conditional acceptance into the program Fall 2010 need to take chem? I know the prereqs have changed for those applying to the program for 2010, but are we exempt (or is it just wishful thinking on my part)? Just found out that there is another mandatory meeting on June 25th...gotta love going to ADN meetings even though we're not in the program, LOL!
  13. I'm excited for us all! Did you guys take chemistry yet? I know that's one of the new pre-reqs for admissions for 2010, so I'm wondering if we'll need to take that if we don't get called up. I hear you about wondering where we are on the list!
  14. Hey, Congratulations! I got waitlisted, too. I'm happy that it's not a flat-out rejection, but still bummed that it's not an acceptance. So, do you know how many people they keep on the waiting list? :) Congrats again, it looks like we might be classmates at some point! :)
  15. I can't agree with you more about studying for the TEAS test! I thought that I'd go in and be fine...until the first science question I read was about MOUNTAINS!!! Please tell me what nurse needs to know how mountains are formed, aaaargh! I am going crazy waiting to hear if I got in. I've heard late February -early March but the suspense is killing me...
  16. I'm completely discouraged, too. It makes me sick to think it's going to be twice as hard to get in now. ***?!?!? Hopefully you and I will look back on this and laugh...when we get acceptance letters :) My fingers are crossed for us both!
  17. Hey DDRN4me! So do you know what's going on with the evening program? A few of us got phone calls asking if we'd like to apply to the day program b/c they're suspending the night classes for 2 years...whyyyy???? It's so frustrating!
  18. Hey, I have no idea why they've decided to do this now. It's so frustrating! I really hope they expand the size of the day program for these two years. I can't imagine admissions being even MORE competitve :sstrs: Good luck with your lifespan class - and I'll keep you posted if I hear any more news!
  19. Hey! I am SO nervous about getting into the program. I originally applied for the evening program but got a phone call a few days ago asking if I'd like to be considered for the day program. The woman I spoke with told me that they're making changes to the night classes and the program won't be available for another two years! So it looks like I'm applying for the day program now, lol! I finished my last two classes (microbiology and lifespan) last semester so if I'm admitted to the program I only have to take the RN classes. I have A's in all the courses so far. Which number do they look at for the TEAS score? Is it the overall percentile? Who do you have for lifespan? I'm not a huge psych fan but the class wasn't that horrible Good luck to you, too!!
  20. I'm applying for Fall '09! I can't believe that they're suspending the evening program for the next two years, though! I almost lost it when I heard that - not sure if they're doubling the amount of day students, have you heard anything? How did you do on your TEAS/pre-reqs? Have you applied before? GOOD LUCK!!
  21. Hey everyone! I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the average TEAS score for people accepted into the program is. Do you know what score (composite, national percentile, etc) that they use? I'm so nervous and I'm trying SO hard to get in for Fall '09. I think I'm driving my husband CRAZY :) Thanks!
  22. No, there are no formulas provided by the TEAS exam. I found that the math was surprisingly easy - it was the general science that shocked me. I haven't thought of tectonic plates and mountain formation since fifth grade!
  23. Hi all! I know this is an old thread, but I'm just looking to get some info. I'm finishing up my last 2 pre-reqs this semester and I'm applying for the nursing program for fall 09. I spoke with another person applying for the program and she said that it's a very political environment and that they don't necessarily take the top students. Now I don't know if she was pulling my leg, but she indicated that she did very well but there were others who had an "in" but did not do as well as she did. Has anyone experienced this or was I talking to a nut? What is the typical profile of an accepted student, anyway? What exactly are they going to look for? I'm so nervous now! Thanks!
