  1. Hi, I'm a new grad and I am interested in Lutheran Medical Center. Do you have any information regarding the orientation process for this hospital? Would this be a good place for a new grad? What is the working environment/culture of the hospital? Are the nurses happy there? What's the nurse to patient ratio? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi Ladyaskanurse, Wow, the nurse to patient ratio sounds ridiculous. Is that ratio true for both Staten Island University Hospital and Richmond University Medical Center??? I was considering SIUH, but now I'm hesitant to even apply. Besides, I'm not sure what's going on with the whole Medicaid Fraud with that hospital. Do you by any chance know of any good hospitals in Brooklyn for new grads? I just really need a job and it seems like no hospital is hiring new grads in September.
  3. Do any of you have any information about staten island university hospital?
  4. Would anyone here recommend a new grad working for SIUH?
  5. Hi Sammi15, I was wondering if you got any info about NY downtown hospital.
  6. Hi Aespangl, I was wondering if you got any info about NY downtown hospital.
  7. Thank you ZuZuTrauma for all that information. The size, money, or population doesn't concern me much. I just want an environment where I can learn and master my nursing skills. Do you know any information about the med/surg floors or even postpartum/maternal-child units? Does the nurse recruiter contact you quickly? I am having so much trouble finding a job recently, maybe because I am applying so late (but that's because I wanted to pass my NCLEX first) and I don't have much nursing experience besides my clinical rotations. I'm just looking for a hospital to give me a chance.
  8. I really want to work for HSS, but it seems like it's impossible to get a job anywhere. I applied to a couple hospitals, but no one has called me back yet. *sigh*
  9. Hi ZuZuTrauma, What is the working environment like at Bellevue Hospital? What other units besides the ER would you suggest for a new grad? Did you feel that the orientation and your preceptor were effective in training new grads?
  10. Hi Uplifting RN, How do you like HSS? Do you know if they are still interested in hiring new grads? How soon did the Nurse Recruiter call you back for an interview? How was the interview process?
