  6. Hello Fellow nurses, I know that i have posted before about jobs in California but......I can't find a job. Im a newly graduated LVN. I moved out here from texas after graduation so i haven't had n e experience. The CA licensing system is like a freakin turtle. So i got my license almost 3 months ago and I have put in about 100 applications!!!! No one wants to hire me because i have no job experience! well excuse my language but how n da hell can i have experience when no one will give me a chance. I'm really starting to doubt my career choice!!! if some one can give me n e tips i am all ears, i live in the LA area.
  7. Hey everyone. Some people are taking this thread too seriously. This is just a way for some of us nurses can vent! Like the title reads : Things you would WANT to say to patients. No one (I hope) is really saying these things. Please don't take it so literal.
  8. Hi what part of southern CA do you live in?
  9. Hey where do u work in southern CA? I moving back as an LVN but I might stay an aide because the prices ice been hearing for nurses are low. Please hit me back I'm moving in 2 months. Thks
  10. Thks binkieRN your advice helped me ease my worries a little.
  11. Well it worries me bc I was always taught in school CVA (cover ya ass) so I want my documenation to be close to perfect. I don't know maybe I'm just nervous about starting to work. I know I feel sort of confident in everything else but documentation is what I really get nervous about.
  12. I'm a new grad and although I'm nervous about being a new nurse in general I'm worried about my documentation does anyone know websites or books that may be helpful?
  13. When I was a CNA at this facility a lady had brought the staff some cookies for taking care of her husband before he died. So she set them on the desk so everyone could enjoy and left. As soon as she left a nurse that was in the elevator with the lady told the staff not to eat the cookies because the lady had dropped the container in the elevator and her dog licked all over them and she just put them back in the container and brought them to us. No one ate those cookies except for one unfortunate nurse....gross ;o)
  14. Hello fellow nurses I am a resident in TX. I just passed my boards and I plan on moving back home to California. Well here in TX base rate pay for an LVN is starting off at 17 and maybe even 19 dollars an hour. When I look up pay rates in California all I see is 15 and 16 dollars an hour. I would have expected the pay to be a little more because of the cost of living. Am I looking in the wrong places? Also when looking at jobs they have LVN I or LVN II what are these? Finally do I need to take the NCLEX over again to transfer my license? Sorry I'm asking so many questions but this will all determine if I can go back home or not. Right now its not lookin so good.
