  1. I will be moving in the next month to MN and am trying to figure out what to do.. I have my last A&P and Micro left and would like to continue on,not sure If I should pursue my BSN or ADN. I know about excelsior, not sure if that is the route I want to take, also found presentation college.. Any input or other alternatives would be appreciated. I have a lot going on, 4 kids, working, etc. just not ready to do the full time program at a campus, I don't think. Thanks for your help.
  2. No, I don't know the answer to that question. I'm sure you could start a new thread and find out the answer. I think there is definately a possibility, because circumstances change all the time. Good luck to you!!!
  3. I just received my letter of acceptance for the LPN program, very excited. Now the work begins, getting everything in order. Congrats, to everyone!!!
  4. Very True and well put.. Life has a way of humbling you sometimes, life is seasons, good and bad. Usually, everyone, at some point or another will have good and shall I say tough seasons...
  5. I sure hope so, can't seem to make any decisions until I find out!!!
  6. same thing that was posted earlier, maybe Nov. now. I'm not quite sure what is up with that. I feel as though they are waiting till the last minute and I have alot to get in order prior to starting, if I get accepted.
  7. Thank You, couldn't have put it better. That is exactly what I meant, with age comes wisdom.
  8. If you don't have kids, you don't get it. It actually means you love something more then yourself. Your time is not your own, etc. Working on the holidays would be no big deal because that only effects you, but if you have a family and the kids wake up, there's no mom or say dad, that effects them. I do believe you should always keep the complaining to a minimum, nobody wants to hear others problems, that is the case in whatever you do. I have said many things in my life prior to having children and let me say, I have eaten my words many times...
  9. It did have science, but I don't think they count it. Those were the questions that I didn't have a clue.
  10. Honestly, I heard the same, about being out of the county. I would still go ahead and try, what does it hurt. I applied to the LPN program, so GPA is of no concern. I did get a 91 on the NET, but still haven't heard if I will get in. It all depends on who is applying during that session. Sorry I couldn't be much help.
  11. I agree, this waiting this is crazy. Yes, I have started the financial process, I need to figure out how I'm paying for this. I did call the school and talk to admissions about when we will find out, and she said middle to end of the month is usually the case. Like you said, any day. Yeah!!!! I will post when I hear something. Good Luck to everyone!!!
  12. Can I say, There has been so much wrong info at the West Campus, what is up with that!!! I had problems with my financial aid and the lady told me to just wait before I do anything, to see if I get accepted. Then I called the North Campus and she said no way, we need to work on this now so we can get it figured out. She didn't want to wait to the last minute. I also called the North Campus and they said letters should go out at the latest end of Oct. How can the campuses be so different on what they tell the students???
  13. Thank you for the update. I don't have any fingernails left.
  14. I am also hoping and praying. I tested at the North Campus, am hoping to to be accepted into the Jan. program, as well. I tested twice and did much better the second time, a 91. I wish you luck. I feel as though this is gonna be a tough term, they had alot of people testing. Do you have any idea when the letters are going out? I assumming we should be hearing something in the next couple of weeks. Post if you get a reply, I will do the same. Do you know anyone else applying? Where did you test?
  15. Anybody else waiting for acceptance letter???
  16. I am hoping to get accepted into the Jan. Lpn program. Looking for advice and plan. I want to do the Lpn program and would love for my clinicals or after I'm done to work in Psych. or a behavior health clinic and finish my pre reqs for nursing and bridge over. Any thoughts from experienced nurses would be greatly appreciated and maybe an alternative plan from my own. I know this is my passion, growing up with a Bi-polar mother, who has battled prescription abuse her whole life. This line of work just fascinates me. Looking forward to the feedback, thank you!!!
  17. It is awesome when they really know their job well!!
  18. Good for you, what program was that? Wish I could say the same. I put all my apples in one basket, hoping. I did hear that about the scores though, hoping low 90's will be good enough. There were just so many taking the test this time, I'm a little nervous.
  19. Do you have any idea how many applicants there were? I wish you luck also,
  20. Wow! Thank you for being so helpful!!! I just applied to PHCC, but was debating about trying Pin. tech. also.
  21. Any Pasco/Hernando- PHCC hopefuls? I just applied to the Lpn program last week, waiting is the worst. Anybody else out there in the same boat?
  22. I was thinking the same thing, just wanted to get advice from others. Hoping and praying my score was good enough to get into the Jan. program.
  23. your right, I am thankful she said something, but she did make it sound like it wasn't just hospitals. I even asked, "nursing homes", and she thought so. Why is it that there is such a shortage of nurses in this state, but it so difficult to get in the programs. I have been checking into the programs and some only accept 12 students once a year. thank you for the response, like you said, "I will find a job", and hopefully, work my way through the rn program.
  24. Today, I was in the financial aid office, and the lady told me Florida would not be hiring any Lpns next year. I just about fell off my chair, because I'm waiting to hear back, I just applied to the program. She told me hospitals were fazing them out by next year. I have read some of the threads on this, it seems to go all over the place. Anyways, now I'm a little nervous, know I shouldn't be, but I had a plan all layed out and wonder what the future will be when I am finished. I just think it's crazy that a financial aid lady would be telling a student this. I hope this is wrong, I will need to work when I am through and doing my pre reqs for the bridge program.
