Entrance Essay for BSN at University
I can write the essay on any subject I want and I need it to stand out amongst many. I thought about the reason why I wanted to be a nurse but I am sure it will sound like everyone else's essay. I want a unique idea. I remember when I first attended school in the 80's and I read many essays submitted to UC schools and there were some wacky ones out there but I also read some very inspiring essays that had nothing to do with academia/education. Oh well, I have about 9 month to work on this so I am sure something will come to mind :) Dawn Pre-Nursing

Looking for BSN program after my ADN in Southern California
I am a legacy admit. from both parents at UC (meaning both attended and graduated from a UC school), I am a graduate and my father is a retired professor of 38 years from UCSD...trust me, I am guaranteed admission. It is just one of those unspoken things that goes on the the UC system. Trust me, I still have to meet all admit requirements to get in but if I meet all (and I do) I get in to any UC school. As for the nursing program, I need to get in on my own merit and I am not being arrogant however I know I will get in as my grades are 3.8, I have a B.S. in Biology and after fall I will have all pre-reqs. My dream is to get my education at a University Medical Center and the nearest ones to me are UCI and Loma Linda. UC is easier to get into than Loma Linda as their application requirements are stringent. I have to write an entrance essay, get three letters of recommendations and I am sure I need some very prestigeous ones, I need to take three exams and go in front of a panel for an interview. I am very intimidated but I am going to go for it! Dawn Pre-Nursing

long beach city college and other college q's
Why do some take the LVN route? By the time one takes the LVN then the ADN the same could be finished in a BSN program (after pre-reqs have been met) and it is faster to get into most BSN programs than an RN at community college level. Dawn Pre-Nursing

I have a BS in Biology and I never had to write an essay to get into college before. I have about 9 months to figure this out so I want to get a head start. Any ideas??? Dawn Pre-Nursing

Laptops for Lecture Notes ~ Anatomy
I too have a convertible laptop (laptop and tablet) and I write my notes into OneNote and also record in OneNote using my mic on my computer. It allows me to review later and make changes and also add what I miss during the lecture. Dawn Pre-Nursing

Looking for BSN program after my ADN in Southern California
After careful consideration I have decided to just go straight to the BSN program after I meet my pre-reqs instead of getting my RN first. I have narrowed it down to UCI and Loma Linda. Over the next year I will attend the seminars there go learn more about it and the good thing is that I am a UC graduate so I am guaranteed admition there but I am really swaying toward Loma Linda. Those in California...UC or CS school?
I have been leaning toward UCI due to I hold a B.S. with a UC school so I am guaranteed to get in. Cal. State Fullerton does not have a waiting list so that is not a problem either and the pre-reqs are not a problems for either as I am qualified for both. I am just retaking my AP, Chem and some Math because I have not been in school for almost 20 years so I really need to brush up on the important stuff. I was looking at a Private school, Loma Linda University however, the application process is gruling... I would even have to compose an essay as to why I should be accepted to their school with three prestigeous references...blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! Loma Linda is my dream school but I am intimidated by them...lol! Dawn Pre-Nursing

Nurses with RNY gastric bypass
I know this post is a bit old however I had lapband surgery and I have a great drink that has ZERO CARBS (no dumping) and low calories. It is Nature's Best Isopure Zero Carb drink. It is 20 oz with 40g. protein (about 10 calories) and it comes in many flavors...best of all, it is not thick and pasty. It is clear and tastes like Crystal Light. Dawn Pre-Nursing

Want to be RN where do I start?
I have a BS in Biology however, it has been about 20 years since I have been in college so I started with the Nursing Workshop at the local Community College, they have them several times a year. There they answered all of my questions and from that I decided to get my pre-reqs from the Community College then transfer to a 4 year university to enter the BSN Program. I will be able to take my state boards after 3-4 semesters for my RN then complete my 4 year degree for my BSN. In a nutshell, start with the Nursing Infomation Workshop and they will help you map out your goal from there. Dawn Pre-Nursing

Endocrine System
I took AP over 10 years ago and I almost always would go online and do a seach using the keywords "Endocrine System Online Tests" and you will find page after page of quizes and other material to help you learn it. I did this with every chapter and I passed with an "A". You will find some great sites that way :) Dawn Pre-Nursing

Those in California...UC or CS school?
I am torn between a California State School (Fullerton) or a University of California School (Irvine) for my BSN. Please do not preach to me about CS costing much less as that is not my issue, I am willing to pay for a better education. Have any others looking into either school? If so, what were your likes and/or dislikes? Dawn Pre-Nursing Student

Riverside Community College waiting list
PA is great if you want to do 2000 hours of clicinical to graduate and it is not comparable to RN/BSN. I am also chipping away at my pre-reqs at RCC and if you have a high GPA, you get priority enrollment. If not then most only wait one semester. Dawn
