  1. I have not received a credit check from Credco- I have one from last year under the credit karma app as well but only under Equifax, not under Transunion. I do not see the old inquiry on credit wise.
  2. Allennp, I can't imagine not working as a NP. I really do love it. I feel like I have the opportunity to help people everyday without the "compassion burnout" of primary care.
  3. I am working the UC for now and love it. I thought it was temp position only but then they offered full time. The pay is less than the ED but no holidays....I plan to follow in the ED For a day to see exactly what I will be expected to manage.
  4. I like the idea of laid back. I also like the idea of learning more! I have A LOT to learn in the ER. It is a little scary! There is something about saying you work in " THE ER/ED." People seem to think it is the end all be all type of place?!?
  5. I need advice as I have been offered amazing positions. Pay is similar. One is a critical access hospital and the other is a family clinic. I was very excited to be offered the ER position at first but it is a fast paced (high volume) ER and the UC is more laid back and actually like a walk in clinic. I have worked in primary care and UC (fast paced) in the past. I also worked in the ER and ICU as an RN but it has been years. Both locations also have excellent supporting staff. Decisions, decisions??? Any advice would be appreciated!
  6. The NHSC LRP program deposits the funds 90 days after the contract is countersigned. Mine was countersigned Aug 1st! Phew. Trying to decide if I should: Pay off the highest interest loans first Disperse the money evenly to every loan in hopes to avoid monthly payments Put the money into a interest bearing account to make my monthly payments. Any thoughts?
  7. I received my NHSC letter 6/25 and it is still under review! Has yours been finalized (countersigned) yet? I called BCRS and they agreed it was taking an unusually long time to get my contract countersigned! I would love to hear if you have heard back!
  8. RSTALLS, I am and NP as well and received my letter 6/24 for NHSC, no final acceptance yet. Did you apply for both programs? The nurse Corp and NHSC? NP's are very likely to get funded under NHSC as 1/2 funds are set aside for them. Make sure you apply for both if you are not awarded. There is still a great chance as long as you followed the app instructions to a tee. Good luck!
  9. I Recieved the acceptance letter 6/24!! It's under final review. I too have $1500 monthly payments. I can't afford even $500/month. Really relieved! Wondering when they will sign off on the final review? You receive funds 90 days after the final review is completed. Also wondering how to best pay off loans but supposedly to qualify for future funds the money has to be payed equally to all loans that qualify. We will talk to analyst about it before we receive funds.

  11. I got in too! I just decided to check this thread and it has kept on going. I bought the first two workbooks, but I need the rest! Thanks again!
  12. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just be yourself and you will be fine.
  13. Does everyone get a phone interview?
  14. I just sent you an email. Hopefully you got it!
  15. Have you done your email interview yet? I wonder when they will notify us of the phone interview?
  16. I called to check that all of my application material made it in and I asked how many applicants they had. They said they still had time left to receive applications, but it was less than previous years.
  17. They seem to have less applicants this year. This might be due to the economy......Did you attend a different school? I had my first clinical day as a CNA and I am loving it! I am even working in long term care. I thought I would hate it, but it was very rewarding! I am really hoping I will get in.......
  18. Congratulations! You must be so excited to graduate. I saw your earlier post about applying and then getting in. Well I have applied and really think I have a good chance of getting in, but you never know! I am wondering about scholarships and if any students worked hard to get them. How many hours a day did you spend on course work during the first few months? Once clinicals started were you able to rest? Loks like course work slows down a little when clinicals start. I am guessing the most shifts you worked are four days a week? I start CNA training on Monday. I am waiting for them to review my transcript so I do the first interview. I majored in Natural Sciences (chem, bio and minor in psych) Any way thanks for responding and again Congratulations!
  19. Were you able to get scholarships? Do you still have your books? I would like to buy mine used. Is it best to get them at the uw bookstore or online bookstores? Do most of the students decide to keep them? Is all of the testing done online, except for the on campus dates? Are the teachers friendly and organized? What has been your hardest class so far? I could go on for hours! I figure the half hour interview/email is just about why you want to be a nurse and how you will be able to handle the program. I am a mom of three, but the two oldest are in school full time amd the third will be in preschool part time next year. I am weird in that I love school, it makes me feel accomplished. I have been a stay at home for several years, so it feels like I am doing something for myself. I am taking a and P II and developmental Psych right now. I was a pharmaceutical sales rep for three years and am glad to be returning to work. Thanks so much for answering all of my questions. I bet you are super excited about your clinicals. Do you change facilites based on the different clinicals? Are you nervous? Thanks again COurtney Any suggestions on the best stethosope?
  20. Really? How exciting. Is it extremely difficult? How many hours do you put in a week before the clinicals start? Have you started the clinicals? I could ask you a million questions! I think I have a very good chance of getting in(grades, working experience, CNA) just waiting till they notify us around Christmas.
  21. No they don't. I am from out of state! Tuition is the same no matter what state your from. It is $34,500. It is all on the website. Here is the list of states they allow! http://www.uwosh.edu/colleges/con/undergrad/accelerated/state_approvals.php
  22. Anyone out there applying for the UW Oshkosh accelerated program? I did! If you did the program how was it? Please please please tell me all about it!
  23. University Of Wisconsin Oshkosh has a BS to BSN online ACCELERATED PROGRAM , that can be done in almost any state. The clinicals are done through your hospitals at home! Takes one year! http://www.uwosh.edu/con/undergrad/accelerated.php
  24. I just applied to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Online Accelerated BS to BSN program. The next cohort will start May 2009. I am excited and curious if any one else is out there applying or if any one else is in the program now. If so how is it?
  25. To Citizenx: (if you are still out there)Do you like the program? Is it very difficult or just fast? To me physics was tough, but trig was not. Organic Chem was tough but not micro. Is it hard to get all of your clinical hours in?
