  1. I would definately write the notes or make notecards with them. It will help you remember more. The first Fundamentals test is rough because it's hard to figure out how to study. I usually review my notes till I know it, then I go back to the book and read all the charts and read over my highlighted things and make sure I get it.
  2. We have started picking up spend and taking about 4 tests a week. So far, I have all A's!!! I hope to keep that up the best of my ability. We have just started the skeletal system too. We are halfway done with our nursing perspectives class. and about to take our basic math final.
  3. I'll try to give the best update I can on my program. We had 3 hurricane days so we are a little more behind than we already would be. We have done only one test in A&P. She's going kind of slow with it; it's a new book and she doesn't have it planned fully. We have our 2nd one tomorrow. This covers about 4 chapters. Took our second PNP today. Have another next week. Fundamentals. First test yesterday, second today, third monday. But we are about to start on unit four chapters. Each has about 3 chapters. She hasn't put up the med terms test yet, but we have the stuff for the first unit. Haven't started nutrition yet. It seems we are a bit slower than the rest, but we are starting to get on track and have a little something to do every night. We have a unit test every day this week. Oh, pharmacology we've only done one quiz so far.
  4. I feel like we've been in school longer. I am adjusted to the new schedule. We have only taken one quiz so far. This week we missed three days, one for Labor Day and two for the hurricane. My teacher sometimes moves slow in things, but she actually finished up quickly today with A&P so we have our first test in that Tuesday. Then a quiz and another test in something next week as well. I read most of the stuff during the summer, but I still have a couple chapters to read and take notes on. I ordered my stethoscope today, I'm excited!
  5. My class seems to be going a bit slower than I am reading about here. They are off to a slow start. We might have a quiz tomorrow, but other than that we have no tests scheduled so far till next Friday. Lots of lectures, a video. Organizing my notes.
  6. We had 2 orientations. Todsy's wasn't that necc. Tomorrow should be better.
  7. I'll post about my first day a bit. Mine seems a bit less interesting than everyone else's. All we did all day, was basically read the little handbook. It said rules and had a calendar with what classes we'll be taking at what time and what day. Everyone's talking about tests and such, and our calendar only states like one a week, no way. Well I think one class isn't listed on there, so there should be more on that. Maybe the meds teacher will give us quizzes or something too. I guess I'll have to wait to find out more later this week. So boring. Hopefully it'll be more fun like yall's soon!
  8. Me too!!! I couldn't sleep either, so I've had about 3 hours myself. We'll be exhausted. My son starts his daycare Wednesday, so it'll be a big week for us too.
  9. I wish I had some online courses, that would be nice. We had to read the first two chapters in A&P over the summer. Pretty much a review. I am a really slow reader, and I get tired when I read a lot. So, hopefully I can get through all the reading without several naps in between. I need more energy too. I have times where I feel like I could sleep for days.
  10. My husband cleaned the house, so now I feel all set for school tomorrow. Nervous and excited. Less than 12 hours till I give my life away, eeps!
  11. That's exactly what I was saying at midnight. I've been waiting on this, but also it feels like it snuck upon me and I can't believe tomorrow's the day.
  12. I honestly don't think it'll hit me until I'm sitting in class in my uniform, hahaha. It kind of felt nice though as I read my summer reading out of our nursing fundamentals book.
  13. Can't wait till Monday! Though I do wish I knew what all was going to be involved on our first day 'orientation'. I'd love to hear more stories of people's first few days.
  14. Wow. Luckily, I took a med term class before I began nursing, so almost every prefix and such we were given over the summer to learn, I know, but I'm redoing the notecards in case. I've already gone through 2 packs for the summer stuff. I need to learn my equivs. That's the thing that I always get confused about no matter how much I know. haha. School over here rarely cancels. Even with a tropical storm. I do believe people have had to go during them and other types situations.
  15. We had an orientation in June. Then we got our schedules a few weeks later after we turned in our fingerprint cards and backgroud check. My books seem diff from yalls. I have a fundamentals, nutrition, anatomy, and calculation of dosages.
