ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
I decided that I would not return to their program. Needless to say I was not satisfied with the limited options of job availability after graduating from a school that is not NLNA accredited. I looked into what hospitals wanted from the incoming employees and a lot of the hospitals that I would want to get into wouldn't accept a nurse that went to a school that was not NLNA accredited. I have since taken a leave to focus on family and going to start taking pre-req's at Tri-C. I found that even the hospital that was going to be one of the locations for clinicals (at the Strongsville campus) would not accept persons without NLNA accreditation for employment.... I was very discouraged to say the least! I would love to have completed my education there, but the credits do not transfer well and without the accreditation jobs are going to be difficult to find after. I also weighed my options as far as how much they charge and it wasn't worth it for me. I also know once you sit in class 1 day you will be charged $5,000. If you decide that the program isn't for you after the first day you will receive a bill and the books are useless after you get them. You can not even re-sell them to book buy back programs! I am not saying don't do it, but please consider all of your options and make an informed decision! If you have other questions you can message me!!

Tri-C in Cleveland lost its NLN accreditation - what now?
I hope so as well. I was looking forward to finishing up pre-req's and once done applying. I can easily go back to LCCC, but my personal preference was to continue on with Tri-C. I am going to finish pre-req's there regardless and see what happens. I so hope they have things worked out by the time I am finally finished.

Tri-C in Cleveland lost its NLN accreditation - what now?
It seems there is now at least a date posted on the school's website.

LPN Program Lorain County Community College
I am not sure how long the wait is for the LPN program, but if you are willing to look into Tri-C, they have a campus in Westlake. I know that the waiting list is much shorter there. Just something to think about if you are going to be waiting for so long. Current placement for the LPN program as listed on the Tri-C website is Fall 2013. I believe that the next placement for the RN program for Westshore campus (the campus in Westlake) would be for the Spring of 2014. Just an estimate, but you can always contact the school to see and there are people that may not start, so places may become available at any point before the semester starts. Hope this gives you a little bit of extra info!

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
A quick update, just got off of the phone with the dean of the Strongsville campus and he did explain some things that I can clarify for all. The campus that went for NLN accreditation was in fact denied the intial accreditation, however this does not apply to other campuses. This is where it gets complicated, the only thing that they can state is that they currently do not hold NLN accreditation. According to the dean, they can not say whether they intend upon applying for this accreditation. He kept repeating that he could only say that right now they do not hold the accreditation, but he said if or when the Strongsville campus were to apply for NLN accreditation, that they would not follow the same process as the campus in Indiana that had been denied initial accreditation. I can only assume that they will at some point attempt to get the accreditation, but as of now they are not accredited by the NLN. I was able to point out some concerns that some people may have about finding employment after graduating, so I hope that the campus takes these things into consideration when choosing whether to seek NLN accreditation. I know that I personally would not want to be denied employment because of lack of accreditation. Since the school is not currently accredited and can not say whether they will apply or not, we need to look at the options. You can hope for them to apply and get accredited while you are attending, but there is no guarantee that this will happen. Yes 2 years is a long time to attend school and $53,000 is a lot of money to not have any clue what will happen. This is a very difficult situation, but I wanted to throw the information out there for people so that they can make an informed decision. If you are looking at the school of ITT Tech for nursing, you need to weigh your options.

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
What these schools do, is prey on those that want to hurry the process along. You will not get them to tell you these things themselves, you must prove to this particular school that you know your information before they will tell you that you are correct. If you want the information you must do the research first, check the board of nursing, check the NLN website, also check job postings for what requirements you will need to become employed with them. I did these things myself and brought this to the schools attention and was going to be ignored until after Monday when classes were due to start. Basically they were going to get me to sit in class for the day and then the dean was going to talk to me. Make an informed decision please. If you can take courses somewhere else I would say go, you are going to restrict yourself after graduation if you attend this school. The entire point of attending a nursing program is to gain employment afterwards, keep that in mind. One of the locations that the Strongsville campus is doing clinicals at, will not accept someone from a non-NLN accredited school, so please do the research!

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
After much research and debate, I have decided to post this. Please ask many many questions regarding accreditation! The school is not NLN accredited and apparently will not be attempting to get accredited later, making it more difficult to gain employment after graduation. The credits really do not transfer, so if you intend upon seeking a BSN you will have a difficult time finding a place that will accept the credits. If you need more information please feel free to PM me. I can not stress this enough, find out everything before you sign on and attend the first class!! You will be charged if you attend 1 class, so locate the information and make an informed decision prior to that first class. I normally would not post this, but do not attend ITT Tech. It is not worth it to spend so much money and not find employment after or be able to continue your education!

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
as far as part time is concerned, it is 3 days a week from 8 am until about 1pm depending on the day. i had to postpone for the quarter due to financial issues. i am planning to go back if i can get everything straightened out with gas money soon. i absolutely have to say that the director of nursing program there is wonderful! i explained my situation to her and she has kept in contact with me via email and personal phone calls to see if there is something that she can do to help. the admissions rep is also great. my suggestion is to contact them and see what they say :) if you would like the number and the name of the rep personal message me and i will be glad to send it your way :)

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
As far as I know you would need to just see which credits transfer over. My advice is to contact the recruiter for the nursing program and he will be able to give you more information regarding the transfer of credits. I know that they do accept transfer credits, but I am not familiar with how that will affect your progression in the program. If you want the information for the recruiter feel free to send me a PM. :)

ITT Tech Warrensville nursing program
It is quite expensive, but it does seem that things are pretty well organized since this is the first class at the Strongsville location. I am sure there are going to be a few glitches here and there, but so far so good. I have only attended 1 class so far, late start, but it has been fun. This particular campus is $493 per credit. So far what i have seen of things, I love it! Very one on one attention since our class size is 9 people. If you need any more information feel free to ask. For me my tuition statement runs from 06/11-03/12 and it is $20,127 for that time frame. I am not due to graduate until 08/13. Anything else i can help with feel free to ask. :)

Tri-C in Cleveland
Thanks so much for the link. That is really interesting information! It's great news for me, because I have yet to complete my pre-req's. I am happy to see that there will be more options closer to Lorain County. I just may be able to stick it out here after all!

LPN schools in Cleveland area/NE Ohio?
I didn't find out anything about the high school chem. The website doesn't say. If you want to contact them you can always go on the website for Tri-C and get help from their online chat service. There are a lot of friendly helpful people that can give you the information! That is another reason that I like that school. I can't always find time to get up to the schools for a quick question due to the kids, but I can always find a moment to get a chat session in some where! If you would like I can give you the link for the nursing packet for the RN program. It has some good information available. The only thing about Tri-C that I didn't expect is the entrance exam that you have to take. Here's the link http://www.tri-c.edu/programs/nursing/Documents/ADN_Information_Packet_Nov09.pdf Hopefully that posts. Oh and go back over the other posts on this thread, because I was just talking with someone earlier about the requirements. foreverLaur was able to give me some very important info on the process with Tri-C, it should be on page 5 of this thread. Anything else I can help with, let me know!

LPN schools in Cleveland area/NE Ohio?
What I was told was that it was a 2 year waiting list after completing the entrance requirements. I understand the travel issue that you are talking about. I am going to have a similar issue myself. I am trying to decide whether to move closer to Tri-C or not. I am no longer fond of this town, but I am not sure that we will be able to afford any where else to live. Like I said I have a 2 yr old and I am about 6 months pregnant right now. I tried to do all the pre-req work through LCCC, but it's just not the school that I want to attend any longer. It always seemed to me that noone knew anything about the procedures and rules of the school. I think for my benefit, it would be better to go to Tri-C. My opinion doesn't neccessarily count if you can't afford the commute or just don't want the commute. It's very understandable to want to spend more time with your kids, but there is that pesky wait list! I think that Tri-C does accept the high-school chem, not positive though. I will check while I am sitting here. Did you want to do the LPN or RN program? I know you said you were almost finished with the pre-req's for the LPN program, but is that what you want to pursue?

LPN schools in Cleveland area/NE Ohio?
It was just personal for me. I tried to get help from the school regarding academic problems that I was having due to a death in the family and no one was able to even tell me who to speak with. With the unexpected death of my step-father, I had to travel to Illinois for the funeral and family. I tried to contact someone at the school to discuss things with an advisor and they told me that they were completely booked for appointments. I also tried going to the school and there was long lines, waits of more than an hour. With a 2 year old, it becomes very difficult to sit in one spot for that long. I also just did not like the fact that there is a waiting list. I was finally told, after many times asking, that there is a 2 year waiting list. The waiting list is for either program. It was personal for me, but then again if you want to complete the program sooner rather than later LCCC is not the place to go. If you would like to wait 2 yrs before being accepted into the program, then by all means go for it. I originally thought that the school was good, but it all depends on personal experiences!

As far as I have seen on here it doesn't matter about exchanges email addresses, but it's not a big deal. I'd rather not get some strange emails in my inbox! I know that the programs out here have a specified color of scrubs that you need to purchase. I haven't seen any that have the specifics of the schools name on them. The only places I have seen that require you to purchase scrubs with the schools name on them are the private schools. I am hoping that if I need white scrubs that I will find out sooner rather than later. I have bought some whites recently. I happened to be able to find 2 sets in white, at a second hand store with the tags still on them. I had to buy them, because they are the peahces line of scrubs and I paid about $16 for the 2 sets. Tops and bottoms. I was shocked at the price that the price of the peaches line of scrubs was about $18 each for the tops and $20 each for the bottoms. Being my luck I bought them for nothing!

LPN schools in Cleveland area/NE Ohio?
Wow thanks for the info you had! It has helped to put my mind at ease!!! I was worried about the cumulative GPA, but it seems that I may be alright after all. Any info that you may have on the school would be great. I am still in the process of deciding whether to move closer to Cleveland, to make it easier for me to attend classes. I am not very familiar with the areas, because I moved to Ohio about 3 years ago. I live in Lorain county right now and I don't drive. I am considering my options on how to go about attending Tri-C. I really appreciate all the info that you did have on the program. I just want to find out what color scrubs to pick up for clinicals, if there is a specific color! Any other information that you come across that you think will be helpful, I would gladly except! I don't know how to PM someone on here, but if you know how to do that, feel free to PM me for any reason! If there is anything that I can do to help you, let me know as well. I am not too sure that I would be of any help to you, but it's an offer! If you can not get in touch with me on here I can give you my email address, so that we can keep in contact about the info you find out! Thanks again.

Did you attend Tri-C? Just wondering what your experience was and how you liked the teachers, program, etc. I am still considering going to the RN program, but my previous experience with LCCC wasn't so great and my GPA there is really low. So I have to retake courses to better my GPA before I can be accepted into either program. I definitely would like someone's perspective on Tri-C.
