i don't know how many people have submitted their deposit, all she told me was 6 people rejecting their seat and she moved down the list and sent out 6 additional letters. i missed it by 1 so if any of the 6 declines their seat i get in. the deadline for the 6 was either today or monday because he gives them 14 days then moves on.

well she sent out the next batch of letters which was 6 and i was number 7.... now i am number 1, so if any of the 6 do not reply then i get in... so i really dont know what my chances are, its killing me!!! im anxious to know if im getting in because my husband is in the caribbean for med school and he wants me to move with him i i don't get in ill move but if i do im staying. :confused: what do you mean by web advisor? is everyone suppose to sign in or something?

yes i did attend the meeting, it was very informative. i still don't know if i got in yet but i was told that they are accepting 30 im number 36 and a few pple that were accepted didn't even show up to the meeting. ill find out late may hopefully...

yes I do attend HFCC, the program is suppose to be one of the best in the nation. im hoping to get into the program this fall, im keeping my fingers crossed. if you go under HFCC website it should give you all the info you need on RTs. this is what I found that summarizes the occupation. Respiratory therapists are health care professionals, dedicated to providing life-supporting, life-enhancing care to newborns, children, adults and the elderly. Respiratory therapists work under qualified medical direction to assess, treat, manage, provide diagnostic evaluation, educate and care for patients with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the cardiopulmonary system. Therapists work throughout hospitals, most often in intensive care units and emergency settings. Therapists are a special blend of patient-centered caregivers and technically sharp, analytical thinkers. Some therapists concentrate on pulmonary rehabilitation and continuing care in patient homes or extended care facilities while others specialize in pediatric/neonatal care. The respiratory therapist may also work in areas such as cardiopulmonary diagnostics, medical equipment sales, management and education.

i was going to nursing but when i found out about RT i seemed like it just fit me better. actually there is a major shortage in RTs and they are on high demand..

Hi I'm wondering if anyone is going into respiratory therapy at HFCC? I just got a letter to attend the orientation meeting this month, but the letter says that I am number 37 and they only accept 28 for the fall 2010 semester. They want me to attend the meeting in case they do not fill the seats and I may be accepted into the fall 2010 program.. Just wondering if anyone knows the chances of me getting in this year? This makes me so nervous and confused

HUDINI, you know what is crazy i scored a 97 on my English u compass... why i couldn't pass the English portion on the NET i really don't know. i think it was anxioty and timing. but i have the test again june 6th and im almost 100% sure ill pass this time.. even if i do pass i still might stick with RT. I dont know yet

in addition to the ones i listed for you, you also need to have a computer class POLS 131 and BIO 234. its actually about the same as nursing but nursing requires you to take pharmacology instead of AH100. RT are also high demand just as nurses are. and a associates is also good, as long as you are certified in RT you can get a job anywhere. nurses get paid a little more then RTs by like $2-5 an hr so its not a big difference

RTH Program Admission Requirements 1. Minimum College GPA of 2.70 (4.0 scale) - (if student has completed at least 12 credit hours excluding lower than 100 level courses) OR high school grade point average of 2.70 (4.0 scale), if no college GPA has been established. 2. ASSET Reading score of 43 or better OR COMPASS Reading score of 84 or better. 3. Assessment score sufficient for placement in ENG 131. This requirement may also be fulfilled by successful completion of required developmental English courses or completion of ENG 131 or its equivalent with a C grade or better. 4. MATH proficiency as demonstrated by successful completion of MATH 080 or its equivalent with a C grade or better OR COMPASS Algebra score of 46 or better. 5. Successful completion of BIO 233-Anatomy and Physiology I, with a C grade or better. 6. Successful completion of AH 100-Medical Terminology, with a C grade or better. 7. Successful completin of CHEM 131-Principles of Chemsitry, with a C grade or better. Individuals new to the field of Respiratory Therapy may find it helpful to job shadow a Respiratory Therapist. This will give new students the ability to see first hand the wide variety of responsibilities that are part of the profession. Hi I've been trying to find a site for respiratory therapy students but cant find anything! i have a question tho, is anyone in the respiratory therapy program at HFCC? I just got put on the list and was wondering how long the wait is typically? they say 24 months but thats what they say with nursing and i know people have gotten in, in less then a year. i will be on the nursing program list also end of june i just cant figure out what one i would like to do.

i chickened out and didnt take it again. i have the test feb 2nd ive been really busy and life has been hectic. any suggestions?

my test is tomorrow and it is paper based since it is my 3rd time. i do feel prepared i did the second time i took it. i was doing great on the practice exams the ones on townsendpress.com.. the problem with me is that i get to worried about the time that i rush through the readings and end up not really thinking it through. i really do think that the paper one will be better for me. has anyone passed with the paper based version rather then the computer one? how is it any different?

hi i need help!!! i faild the NET test twice, i took it yesterday. im doing fine on the math but keep failing the english my test is friday and i have to pass this this time because it is my last chance my school only lets you take the Net 3 time. please please help.

hi this question was probably answered before but i didnt read all the posts. anyways i took the net back in july and i passed the math failed the english. since then i have been terrified to take the test again and im running out of time! i need some help with the comp part what can i do to do better on that? also do you suggest taking a break during my test because the first time i didnt and by the time i was doing the english portion my eyeballs were sore!!!

the test i took was also on bears and hibernation which bored me to death! i heard that if you fail the test they dont give you the same one. i heard the second one is about sleep patterns .. i think..

you need a 65 on the english and 65 on the math. the stress part does not go against your grade its just to see how your stress level is.

hey i am freaking out all over again!!!! i took the net back in june studied hard for the math portion didn't really study for the english i was to confident because my placement scores were high. anyway i ended up passing the math and failing the english. i take my test again nov 2nd. i know there is a net forum on this website but seemed too complicated. i would appreciate it if you guys can tell me how you prepared for the test and what helped you pass it. i really want to pass it this time if i don't i will freak out!! that's the last thing keeping me from getting on the list! ps i do have the study guide from the library

hi i'm in the same boat as you right now. i too get on the list end of fall! have you finished your anatomy and phys classes? i only have anatomy 2 to take and ill take that in the fall. if you really want your bsn i say go for it take as many classes as you can for it and get them out of the way. did you talk to anyone about when you might get into the program? i keep hearing different things they've confused me

hi im a pre nursing student at hfcc i'm taking my last class this semester and will be put on the waitlist mid december. i was doing some researched and came across rt it sounds interesting and maybe something i would like to do. i was wondering if anyone is or going to school for rt. and how long the waitlist is for at hfcc. i have all the admission requirements done, i just need medical terminology they said once i finish that i will be placed on the list which is after the winter semester. is the program more difficult then the nursing program?

thank you for the email address i just emailed her. the thing with me is im very young i got married when i was 18 and now have a 6 month old and im 21. i really dont need to work right now and not in a huryy to work, school is more important to me and the only thing that intrests me is nursing... but when i talk to people at the nursing division i get mixed signals, one will tell me to find somthing elsei wont get in for another 2 years and another will say i should be in fall of 09 or winter 10.

:confused::confused:hello all, i have been attending hfcc for 2 yrs now i have completed all my pre req for the nursing program except 1. i really need to get my education going my passion is nursing but the waitlist is making me think twice at hfcc and thats the only school i want to attend. a councler told me i can get on the wait list dec of this year, but she wouldnt tell me when i would get called. i had a baby 6 months ago and i want to wait untill i finish school to have another but dont want to wait 5 years... i was looking into surgical tech program but i dont want to just settle with that.. what are your opinions???
