  1. Thanks for the info sammy. You must be nearing completion @ ODS...congratulations and all the best for your Naval future! Any more insight on ODS???
  2. Curious if any other direct accession candidates have been told student loan repayment is no longer available? It is still listed on navy.com (for practicing nurses). While not the only factor, this is a huge factor in my considering the Navy. Now wondering if I should contact another branch. I want to serve this country and take care of those taking care of me...should it matter which branch?
  3. That rocks cat2008! I am sooo happy for you that I am doing a happy jig in your honor :dncgbby: I am standing by to hear soon r/t Navy Nurse Corps. Keep it real.
  4. Congrats!! I am new here too and I do not have answers to your questions but am excited for you. I am an RN/ADN getting my BS 12/08 and am in the 'enrollment' process in becoming a naval medical officer. Good luck to you.
  5. This would be me, considering naval service. I am new the allnurses.com - I have contacted a medical officer recruiter recently, have filled out some med forms, sent my resume, and am working on the application. I did post on another thread, but wanted to join in on this one too. This has been a great resource, reading through the wealth of info on this site, thank you all :) Fiscal year starts October...I was (also) told the 'quotas' have been met for the current fiscal year. I complete my BS 12/08 and am an RN/ADN currently. What should I make sure I get 'completed' by 10/08 to ensure the best possible standing as an officer (by the time I graduate in 12/08)? Any thoughts, advice, and guidance is much appreciated.
  6. I have also just started the process in becoming an officer in the navy. I am in a RN to BSN program and will graduate December 2008....i am in the process of filling out an application....does anyone know what that means? What questions should i ask before submitting this app? I have left a couple voice mails but have not heard back from the recruiter this week. Should i ask about the 'ncp'? Isn't it only for current 'sailors'? Any advice or guidance is more than welcomed.
