  1. It may be a blessing not getting in the winter. I know a few people who went through the winter program and wished they had waited until the fall. Two failed out because they were burnt out since you would have to go all year round and they had to wait for the next year anyway. Good Luck :)
  2. Talk about deja vu becasue seriously i thought i was the only one i had 5 SATA in the first 20 questions and lets not even talk about med teachings because you would think they would give you some clue to what the med was for but no so of them were so off the wall and the whole one word answers... i feel ya on that one too, when they are listed on the screen they all look right! It drove me crazy!
  3. Glad to hear you gotta hoot out of that... Definitely let us know how you did. And I highly suggest to whoever is about to take or retake this exam, to laugh out loud when you are the last person in the room because honestly the test proctors really don't do anything cause I think when you are sitting in this room all by your lonesome, especially when the last person left 2 hrs ago, the only thing that proctor is doing is feeling sorry for you (unless of course they don't have a soul, and instead they're laughing at you). Just a thought:D And remember keep your head up pray like crazy anything can happen! But just in case you do find yourself staring at the computer screen looking at that four letter "F" word, you owe it to yourself to indulge in some maladaptive practices. But after that pick yourself up, brush your shoulders off and get back on that high horse and tell your self next time will better and you will see a four letter "P" word instead:nuke:
  4. Conragtulations! I agree with JustAnIllusion, all the books you'll need will be in the bookstore. The math book that is usually mandatory is by Curren titled Math for Meds 9th edition, just in case u really want to be ahead of the game. And as an FYI if you wanna spend a little extra money, look in the hfcc registration book for a medication calculation dosage class, sometimes they'll have it. If not ask. I think there is a part one and part two. Personally I don't think you'll need it but I have talked with a few people who said that it really helped them. I did hear that the nursing program may/will change the math competency requirement to 100% instead of just passing by 90%. So this class may help you. As for the terminology book, as it was said before they provide what you need during your first semester. But if you really wanna get a head start while you are on the wait list and can afford to part with some greenbacks, then i would suggest the Medical Terminology class. And remember to stock up on note cards, they become real handy when studying. Good Luck and happy studies!
  5. "OhYeahIneedaMiracle," I don't think I could have said it better myself because that is exactly how I felt taking that exam. I prayed to god that I would only get 75 and just be done either way, but no, 100 passed, then 150 at that point my heart started pounding and I was just about at panic mode then item 175 popped up and surprise surprise it was probably what seemed like my 30th medication question that I had never seen before (even tho I studied meds like crazy), I started to laugh at loud because it didn't matter I was the only one in there anyway. I think I even looked up at the camera and gave it a little smirk because for a split second I thought I might have been on some cruel twisted reality show and I was being puncked. From that moment on it felt like I was just clicking the mouse just to see if the computer would shut me off because none of the questions made sense anymore. I did what I could and that was that. So take comfort knowing that you definitely are not alone! I'm praying to the NCLEX gods for you. GOOD LUCK!
  6. I am currently employed with the Henry Ford System as a graduate nurse, if I fail my NCLEX, does anyone know what usually happens in this case. Do I loose my job, do I keep my position and be put on probation or do I become a tech?
  7. Hi, I stumbled upon this site approximately an hour ago I could not help but to sign up and express my shared pain and agony. I'm in the same boat here, I took the my exam on wednesday the 16th took in 265 questions and after 2 days of high anxiety and anticipation I saw the word FAIL. At that moment it felt like my life had just ended, that was about 3 hrs ago and I have just now managed to stop crying, even as I'm typing. I have thousands of thoughts rushing through my mind... "since I failed do I loose me job... or will I be on probation?"... "how am I financially?"... "what will my boyfriend think of me (he's already an RN), what will my friends who have already passed say? They are already calling and texting me to see if I have gotten my results. I know that everyone is going to be really supportive because that's just how they are but I also know that they are all gonna have that "I feel sorry for you" look on their face and that intial awkward response becasue they don't know what to say or do to comfort me becasue they haven't gone through what I'm going through. I am scheduled to work the next 5 days on my unit... what do I tell everyone? They have already anticipated my passing. At this point I have lost so much hope and I feel completely drained. I don't know how to go on from here. I feel like I'm at my lowest point. Though I must say, after reading some of the responses on this forum, I do seek some comfort knowing that I'm not alone and that there are others out there who share my pain and agony. I know that there isn't much I can do from here but to accept what has happened, get over my denial phase, move on and take the next steps to retaking the exam.
