  1. Thanks everyone. I was beginning to doubt myself. I'll be taking Basic Human Biology, Chem for Health Science Majors, and Algebra. Guess we are in this thing together.
  2. :heartbeatDo not worry about pass or fail on your placements. These tests are given to gage where you are. Remember, it is about building a solid foundation. You do not want to jump into the ocean if you do not know how to swim. I did well on the English exam but, chose not to take the Math. I took the Math Review class instead just to make sure that my foundation was strong and now I will move on to Algebra 1 this next semester. Good Luck to you.:loveya::redbeathe
  3. :redbeatheWell, I am on a Community College Pre-Nursing Certificate Program. The 1st semester I just took a couple of classes to acclimate myself to the College and studying habits again. I started with the Computer required class and Student Development. I just registered for the Fall semester and will take a full course load. Human Biology, Algebra, English, and Medical Terminology. Hopefully, Spring semester I will be ready to tackle the first A&P class along with Microbiology. I want to get this thing done. I do not want to have to be tackling things like Public Speaking, Psychology, Sociology, Ethics, etc., once I am accepted into the Program, so I am taking the time to complete all Non-Nursing classes before I apply. Of course I must throw the dreaded Chemistry class in there at some point. I don't expect this to be easy but, at my age I am just ready. I've had to put it off to raise my family, and now it is my turn. My dream is to work with Hospice Patients. That is where my heart is. You have to do this in the way that works best for you. If you can begin now, by all means do.:loveya::heartbeat Good Luck!!

  7. Hi Trixie, Yes, that is way too much to be paying. Check the public schools in the different Cities and Counties in your area. I am certain that you can get the same training at less than half the cost. Also, check the Hospitals. Some of the larger institutions have their own LPN/LVN Training Courses. Good Luck!!
  8. :stdnrsrck: First of all I want to say that I am so sorry for your dilemma. I do not know how close you are to completing. You are in a situation where acceptance may be the key. If you cannot beat them join them. Is there any way that you can transfer to an ADN Program in your area that is not facing such obstacles? You may be surprised by the fact that they will accept more of your completed credits than expected. You will not know unless you ask the question. The most important thing to know is that you are not alone!!! Many of us stand with you in this dilemma. It could have happened to any one of us so we must stand together and know that "There but for the Grace of God go I." It sounds to me that Nursing is one of your callings. Don't give up. If the door is closed, try the window. Something will open and a WAY will be provided. Good Luck to you and God Bless! Seek Wisdom First!!

  11. What a delight!! :heartbeat I was a teen in the 70's and would not change it for the world. I do remember when JFK was shot. We were dismissed early from school that day. I was in the 3rd grade. They did not tell us why we had to go home. But, when I arrived, my father was already home (which was unusual) and it was the only time in my life that I saw him crying. I was able to make the connection many years later. We had our struggles but it was a different world. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
