I'm doing this NCLEX practice questions and I'm confused with it. Q: A hospitalized client asks the nurse for sodium bicarbonate to relieve heartburn following a meal. The nurse reviews the client's medical record, knowing that the medication is contraindicated in w/c of the following conditions? The answer was: Metablic alkalosis when I thought its respiratory acidosis. Help //??

If you fail lab or clinicals you have to repeat the whole class. I know it sucks but it counts as 1 class, so you have to pass all in order to move forward.

Yeah, I thought atenelol because when i looked it up, it said that Atenelol is selective B1 blocker. I got confused when the question asked what BB i would use for someone who has asthma. In my head, I was thinking "why would I want to use a BB for a pt w/asthma, when Beta adrenergic drugs causes bronchodilation." But thank you thank you that makes so much sense. Also, I thought B2 causes both broncho and vasodilation??

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me with the beta blocker? I have been studying all day and I can't seem to get it in my head. I'm confused with the selective and non selective antagonists!! I'm trying to answer one of my nclex practice questions but I'm super stuck. Please help!! Which of the following drugs is the preferrred treatement with a beta blocker? a> propranolol b>timolol C>Nadolol d>Atenolol Ok. so beta-1 adrenergic agents targets the heart (increase HR, increases cardiac contraction) beta-2 adrenergic agents targets the lungs (vasodilate & bronchodilate) beta blockers will inhibit those actions. I don't know why I'm stuck. I think my brain is fried:banghead:. help anyone please

Hello! I actually move from SF to Dayton, OH last October. I'm currently attending Hondros College for their LPN program. They offer LPN-RN program but I'm not sure if they have one there in Columbus. JUST FYI. Hondros is not NLNAC accredited, that is why i'm actually having second thoughts whether or not I should take the LPN-RN prog in their school. I'm not exactly sure how important it is, but they are accredited by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and also approved by the State Board of Career College & Schools as well as fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN). I think I'll be allowed to take the NCLEX-RN if I do take the RN program from their school. Let me know if you also get any info =)

I am currently enrolled at Hondros College for their LVN/LPN program. They offer a LVN/LPN-RN bridge program, but my only concern is they are not NLNAC accredited. They are however accredited by the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and also approved by the State Board of Career College & Schools as well as fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN). My main concern is when I'm finally done w/my RN program, I know I will move to California, Washington and Illinois because of my bf's work. I'm worried that the state won't allow me to work because of the accreditation.

What type of accreditation does the school need?? The school that I'm currently attending is ACICS - accrediting council for independent colleges and schools. I've been reading a lot of NLNAC lately. I'm taking the LPN and I'm planning on pursuing the RN program right after I graduate next sept. Do you know by any chance of any other LPN bridge school-aside for CLC?? I currently live in Ohio, and I'm actually thinking of moving to Illinois. Is that far from downtown?

Oh, so your in Level I and will go on Level II? Well so far the work load is really not that much. Just as long as you read every night you'll be fine =) But you know what, I was just looking at the catalog and I noticed that the classes for Level II doesn't seem to have a lot of Nursing classes. I don't know, I just think there's several classes that should've been left out or added to level I.

I'm most likely going to finish my nursing at Hondros. So far everything is going well, I was just asking if there are other schools in Chicago/Ohio for the ADN program. Maybe I should've wrote "other" instead of "good" school because it sounds as if Hondros is bad. =) Are you taking the LEVEL I ? or II??

I am currently taking my LPN classes at Hondros in Ohio. Does anyone know any good school for an RN??? (ADN) in OHIO or Chicago? I'm not sure if I want to take the Level II (which is the RN program) at Hondros when I graduate next year. Thanks!!

Hello!! I'm actually moving from Cali to Dayton, OH in October! I went to Ohio last week to take the HESI test and let me tell you Ohio doesn't sound as exciting as Cali but you are moving for school right?! I say sacrifice now and it will be rewarding later! I myself cant imagine living in the suburb but I thought it will get me to focus more. As lonely as it sounds I just have to keep in mind that "time flies". Anyways. I found a school in Dayton and they have several locations so you can check out the website www.hondros.edu the program takes 2 1/2 years and it is cheaper than any private schools that I know in San Francisco. I would've gone to Cinccinati or Columbus just because its a bigger city compare to Dayton, but I have a family there and it will def save me money for rent.

I'm considering hondros-dayton for nursing program and willing to move there from cali. The thing is I just found out that they are not NLNAC but they are ACICS (Accrediting Council for Independent College and Schools). I talked to one of the director in hondros in dayton and said that they are nationally accredited. So does this mean I can still sit for the nclex after i get my aa in nursing?? will it be hard for me to get a job or be limited? Do you guys know if hondros is a good school,since the nursing program is still pretty new. Im just afraid of putting all my time, effor and money and later on finding out that it was all a waste. Is the nursing programin Cinccinati better than the one in Dayton? ????!! OH yeah F.Y.I to you guys- I found out you can actually apply for $$ or loan through FAFSA this coming term (october).
