hi! have you considered taking OET instead of IELTS. i know somebody who had the same problem as yours. failed IELTS 3x in Australia. she took OET and passed it on 1 take. apparently OET is easier but more expensive than IELTS.

for my case i was not asked by the immi officer both in phil and au. i went back to au twice using my 456 with multiple entries and didn't experience any difficulty :)

i think you can write both :) start with the most recent which is the PRC board exam then your BSN.

post bp and when you receive your reg already :) i dont know why they told you that you can stay in OZ with work rights while PR is being processed unless maybe you'll be on a student visa first yes you can work 20 hrs per wk but student visa is only valid until the course ends so you might need to enrol to a diff course which may allow you to stay for another yr depending on the course with working rights. you can lodge PR while your in Phils as long as you already have your AHPRA license. :)

hi you wouldnt be able to apply for PR without your registration so you would need to do your BP first - get RN license - apply for skills assessment in ANMAC - lodge and expression of interest for PR - get invited by DIAC to apply for PR - then lodge PR application. skills assessment from ANMAC would take 4 mos and getting invited to apply for PR would i think be around 3-4 mos as from what Ive heard from my friends who applied. if it happens that you were able to lodge your PR while still on your visa subclass 600 i think you may be able to get a bridging visa while waiting PR in Oz. but the problem is you wouldnt be able to work while waiting for PR and its really not that practical. those who werent able to get a job applied for PR offshore and I reckon the waiting time would be longer if its filed offshore as they would prioritise those who are currently staying in oz like what happens when applying for 457. i am not an expert regarding PR hehe but those info are based from what my friends experienced. all requirements are in the DIAC website. :)

you would have to wait for your ahpra reg before you can apply and you have to pass the 60 points requirement. this includes at least 36 mos exp overseas thats for the independent skilled subclass 189. first step is to lodge an expression of interest and wait for immi to invite you to apply. i think you cant stay in au if its being process as your living rights would still be of your previous visa. hope this helps! :)

there is one doctor who's clinic is in Heidelberg near ETEA office and when i also went in Au I lack the flu vaccine so I had to do it here. I certainly think you can do some of the vaccines here as long as you do them before your clinical placement starts. :)

hi jo! for 457 you have to upload scanned original copies of passport, birth certificate, receipt of medicals, job offer letter, contract, college diploma, ahpra registration cert, i also showed evidence of BP completion, for ielts it has to be valid but im not sure if it has to be all 7 for 457 visa app. you can call the immi to ask that, nomination grant letter which should he forwarded to you by your employer and also evidence of health cover or insurance :)

usually the deadline for applications would be 2 wks after they advertise. after the deadline they would assess applications for about a month. so its really a long process.

hi! i had 1 yr ER and 2 yrs Radiology experience. the position that I applied for is level 1. one of the applicants had 10 yrs ER exp but she was not hired maybe because she's no longer considered as level 1. Hope this helps! :)

so you lodged your e457 in sydney? i think the processing time in sydney is 2-3 wks so you should be alright. :) yes after attaching you can just click the cancel form or close the page because once your finished uploading your attachments you can already see it in the list of your documents :)

hi kringkring. it really depends on the centre of excellence where your 457 was filed. perth is the fastest. sydney i think is the slowest. and my case officer didnt contact me until i received my visa grant last night. here's my timeline: 7/06/2013 Processing commenced. 7/06/2013 Application fee received. 10/06/2013 Application processed further. 17/06/2013 Application approved.

hi! I got my 457 visa just now :) they did consider my medical exam as it was still within the 1 yr validity period. yes my 456 visa was still valid when I lodged my 457 online here in Manila. :)

hi sephine! here's my timeline :) : December 2012 - Finished BP went home here in Phils and spent Christmas with my family :) January 2013 - Went back to Aus Feb 2013 - Got my AHPRA Registration April 2013 - Went back to Phils (Had to exit as I already reached the max 3 mos stay) - Had a telephone interview with a district Hospital in Western Australia May 2013 - Got the job offer (Emergency Room Nurse) June 7, 2013 - Lodged my 457 online offshore I am still currently waiting for my 457 visa. Hi guys! Its been a long time since I last posted here. I graduated from ETEA last Dec 2012. I've read one post saying that ETEA is not the ideal school to take your BP. Well, it is partly true. Hahaha! If only I could turn back time, I'd rather go for IHNA or ACFE. ETEA does accept a number of students which they can't really handle. In my opinion, that's the reason why ETEA students got problems with their registration. Students from IHNA or ACFE would get their registration after 2-3 weeks only unlike with those from ETEA they would wait for 2 mos or more. I learned from one of my indian classmates that his friend has been waiting for 6-8 mos already after graduating and still no registration. This is of course making me nervous but all I can do is pray. Regarding the demand for nurses in Australia, there are still a lot of jobs but there are a few who are offering sponsorship. During my clinical placement in NSW, I was already applying jobs online. Royal Prince Alfred hospital invited me for an interview. I was having my duty that time so we just arranged a phone interview. I still didn't have my registration because that was I think my 2nd week of clinical placement. So the hospital told me that of course we wouldn't be able to process the sponsorship because they need my registration. They just told me to contact them once I receive my license. Now for those who are planning to go to Australia my first advice is to not make Australia as an "escape" country. Coz some, I think... want to go there because they couldn't get a hospital experience in Phils. It is still a must for you to get at least 3 years exp in your specialty to make yourself competent and to stand out among other applicants. Australia is a beautiful country and it is still a wise decision for nurses to go and get more experience there. However, I would discourage others who are planning to loan or sell their family's properties just to be able to move there. Some consultancies are giving false hopes coz its still just all about their business. Nurses who are very much in demand are those who have O.R (Theatre), Mental, Aged Care specialties. So for those who have at least 4-5 yrs exp in those areas, don't worry you will definitely have a good future in Australia. :)
