  1. I graduated in May 2008 and they DO say that you HAVE to be there, but...you don't. At least I didn't! I went the first day and stayed the entire time, then I didn't go back.
  2. Every question in the test bank of the NCLEX has a certain level of difficulty. Pass or fail is determined by whatever level of difficulty you are at when you are getting 50% right and 50% wrong. Since I passed, the level of difficulty I had was at the appropriate level.
  3. It depends on what faculty you are working with. Some insist, regardless of hair length or how cute you look :chuckle Others couldn't care less. It seems for me, if the faculty worked on campus at HFCC, they were strict. If it was someone who came to HFCC just to teach clinicals, they didn't care.
  4. I just graduated from HFCC and never used a rolling bag. The first semester is when you will really be carrying a lot of books. And yes, parking totally sucks.
  5. I only had 5 or 6 SATA and I had 75 and passed. I honestly don't thing it is possible to determine what the level of difficulty any particular type of question is.
  6. I passed on 75 and I was sure I failed! Looking back, though, I had such a hard time because my level of difficulty was harder! My advice is to just read each question carefully and take your time. I was told to try to guess what the answer might be before looking at your choices, but this never worked when I was taking the test. For me, I would eliminate two answers immediately, then really think about the remaining two before making a decision.
  7. My first few weeks of externing, I was SUPER sore! My calves, especially. It did go away, though. Make sure you are wearing really good shoes. Crocs don't count! I bought Nike running shoes and the difference is incredible!
  8. I sold a TON of books at half.com! It's super easy and I made way more than I ever would have at the bookstore.
  9. I just graduated from HFCC in May. I was put on the wait list at the end of the summer semester in 2006 (so late August) and I was in the program the following Fall. While I was waiting, I took both Anatomy and Physiology courses, so it wasn't like I was just waiting around doing nothing. It was also nice to not have to worry about any extra classes while I was doing the program. I'm not sure if WCCC has changed, but last I heard, it wasn't an accredited school like HFCC is. I also know the success rate of NCLEX passing for HFCC is extremely high (I'm not sure what WCCC is). Good luck with your decision! Whatever you choose, it won't be the wrong choice.
