  1. Congratulations!!! :dncgbby:
  2. Thanks for the update. You were in my thoughts all day. This must be very stressful for you. I will keep praying for you. Good luck with your orientation I'm sure you will be wonderful in the Labor and Delivery setting.
  3. I will keep you in my prayers.
  4. I am scheduled to switch out my Mirena IUC to Paragard next week. I'm having second thoughts now...
  5. Good luck with your pregnancy and in your new career!
  6. If you became pregnant with a Paragurd IUD in place PLEASE call your doctor.
  7. Penn State University has an online RN to BSN through their World Campus. NLNAC and CCNE accredited.
  8. If you are looking for an RN to BSN program online, Penn State University is an excellent choice. The program is accredited by both NLNAC and CCNE. The coursework is the same as their classroom based RN to BSN program. It is definately NOT a "diploma mill".
  9. That behavior is very unprofessional. I never experienced it at work, but my significant other does this with our children sometimes. It drives me crazy! I tend to try to avoid conflict, so I would have a hard time dealing with this behavior from a coworker. I think I would ignore it the first time, but if the behavior continues I would have to confront him.
  10. Just wanted to add that I don't regret making the decision to stay at home. It just wasn't the best career move. If you decide to stay at home, a refresher course may be helpful when you decide to return to work. Good Luck!
  11. I was a New Grad with only 5 months experience when my second child was born. I returned to work after maternity leave, but my infant refused to take a bottle and was so fussy I ended up quitting work after a week. In hindsight, I wish I had accepted the casual position my boss offered me. My baby was diagnosed with cancer a few months after I stopped working, so I probably would have ended up quitting anyway. My son is in remission now, but as the other poster stated it is hard to get back into the system once you leave esp when you have to complete a full time orientation. Good Luck with whatever you decide.
  12. I gained 30lbs while working 12 hour nights......Maybe it was because I was pregnant LOL! Sorry... Couldn't resist. Actually, a lot of the nurses I worked with said they gained weight while working nights.
  13. I just wanted to wish you luck! You can do this. I made it through nursing school as a single mom. It took a lot of discipline and hard work, but I managed to juggle everything and graduate with a 3.8 gpa. I studied at night after my son was asleep. Stay organized and make time for your children. You will make it!
  14. Congratulations! You will be an inspiration to many people. Thank you for sharing your story. I wish you all the best in your nursing career and life!
  15. Penn State University has an online certificate in Nursing Management. They also have an online certificate in Gerontology, but it's a post Masters certificate. I am enrolled in their online RN to BSN program and I love it!
