Pre nursing school studying material
I will be started LPN school in August and I was wondering what materials would be good to read this summer just to keep my studying skills fresh and give me a jump start in school. I don't have access to text books yet but I know there are some good alternatives out there. Thanks in advance for the help! Charisse

A & P Class requirement
The only reason I didn't take the higher classes is I can't guarantee that I would bridge within 5 years and science classes aren't good after 5 years. It would have been horrible to take the classes twice. The good thing is that since I have taken 163, it gives me a base for when I do take 168 and 169. Any advice for success in the LPN program?:)

A & P Class requirement
I applied to the LPN program but won't hear anything back until May I believe. Since I didn't know how long before I decide to bridge, I went ahead with the BIO 163 which I am in now. So if get accepted, all I will have are nursing classes.

CNA hourly pay rate in Sanford/Fayetteville area
I would like this information also. Well, I need the Fayetteville/Raeford area. I plan on taking the CNA course this summer so I can work weekends as a CNA while I am in LPN school. I would like to know what kind of money I can hope to make. Can anyone out there help us out? Thanks in advance Charisse

Why did your friend say she would never go back to Cape Fear?

What Are Lpn Duties In Nc
I am located in Raeford as well and hope you can give me some guidance on the payscale for LPN's in the Fayetteville/Raeford area? I am not interested in nursing homes or LTC's, but everything else. Where do you work?

How do you do it.....LPN to RN bridge
I definitely planned on getting everything done so all that was necessary was nursing classes. I just want to make sure I can pay my bills while going to nursing school. :-)

How do you do it.....LPN to RN bridge
How do you all do it? How do you work as an LPN while pursuing your RN? Do you just work part time? I was looking at the schedule for the RN nursing class and even the ones in the afternoon started at 3:00 and the clinicals that were twice a week were all day. I am just curious how everyone does it? I am wondering how realistic it is to get my RN while working and taking care of a husband and 4 kids. Look forward to everyones responses.

A & P Class requirement
I think it is 5 years at my college too. I hadn't planned on taking more then the 5 years to bridge, but you never know. I definitely would not want to take any science class over again, so I will definitely keep that in the back of my mind as I make these decisions. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

A & P Class requirement
I am starting my pre-reqs in Aug and will apply in Jan. I want to start nursing school with nothing but nursing classes since I still have to work part time and have a husband and 4 kids to take care of. I have to say though I am wondering how any works and does the RN bridge. I looked at FTCC's schedule for the RN classes for the 1st semester of the 2nd year and the classes begin either in the morning or at 3:00 in the afternoon and the clinic days are all day. One of the main reasons I am doing the LPN first is so I can work while I get my RN, but is it really possible with such conflicting schedules?

A & P Class requirement
I am just hoping that FTCC will take the 168 and 169 instead of the 163, just waiting to hear back from them. I will definitely have all my pre-reqs out of the way, I don't to have to focus on anything but nursing classes. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

A & P Class requirement
I figured it would be best to take A &P I and II, it certainly couldn't hurt. I can't imagine the school not accepting those classes in leau of the basic, but we will see.

A & P Class requirement
The College (FTCC) that I am planning on getting my LPN diploma thru doesn't require A&P I and II, they only require Basic A & P. I plan on getting my LPN and as soon as I can get my RN. I am not quite sure how going from LPN to RN works in my area (Fayetteville, NC) or if it is even possible, but I am wondering if I should just go ahead and do the A & P I and II or just do what the school requires or does it even make a difference when its time to bridge from LPN to RN? I noticed another college I was looking at for my diploma does require I & II. I thought it was kind of odd that science requirements were different like that. Whatever I need to do, I want to start this fall if possible so I wanted to see what information I could get from here. Thanks in advance

Why did you choose LPN over RN..need help making a decision
Hi all I am new to this board and need some advice. I have just decided to go back to school for nursing. I have 7 years as an orthopedic technician while I was in the army(many years ago) and then got out, went to college and did different things to include have a family. I am a mother of 4 children, between the ages of 2-11, and work almost full time. I keep going back and forth about which career path to take, LPN or RN. I am leaning towards the LPN and getting my RN at a later date. I was wondering if you all could give me some of the reasons you chose to be LPN's instead of RN's and if you plan on becoming RN's at a later date. Thanks for your input. CS
