Can someone tell me what these abbreviations mean? Fundal height documentated c/w and s=d ? I am not an Ob nurse and reviewing a chart and just curious!
  3. I just wanted to let you if you do a search on this site and type in clinical coding solution you will find the info that was mention about this company. Someone stated they pay $30 to $50 per hr. When I called today they said as low as $1.00 to $2.40. You are an independent contractor. Maybe this is the way to go. I don't know!
  4. I called clinical coding solutions today. They stated the pay is as low as $1.00 to $2.40 a chart. I am curious about the $30-$50 rate.
  5. I do enjoy coding. I am working with Medassurant capturing hcc, icd 9 codes. I really like it however the work is not always steady. The work is more available for certified coders. I decided to get certified in coding. I like coding and it doesn't hurt to expand into other areas. I hear nurses being hired as RN coders or rn auditors. I can't remember where I found this in this forum. I have been doing so much research on where to go to get trained and certified, looking for jobs. I have looked into fone med and call care for home based positions. However, I only have a BSN with 3 1/2 yrs of nursing. Alot of these places won't even give me a chance! They want 5 to 10 yrs. clinical experience. I don't mind taking a pay cut if I can get ahead later. Just curious what my options are as a RN Coder. Thanks for any info.
  6. I have decided to give this a go and become a certified coder. However I am wondering where I would find a position doing so and from home. Does anyone know where you can work as a RN Coder? I looked into clinical coding solutions that suggested in this forum. I was disappointed to find out it is only contract work. They pay per chart as low $1.00 an hr and you must supply your own equipment. I was wondering if there are any companies that hire permanent part or full time positions and pay hourly or salary. Thanks!
  7. I am currenty RN looking to take courses in medical coding. I looked into AAPC , AIHMA, and AACA-rn coder boot camp. I was going to go with AIHMA because I can pay per class. I was only going to take the coding classes which would be only 4. AIHMA said this would be fine but I would not get a certificate at the end but could still take the test to get certified. It would only cost $900 if I do it this way. Can any nurses let me know what they did? Thank you!
  8. Could you tell me where I could receive online training for medical coding? I would like to find a credible facility.
  9. Thank you so much for the response. I know I will be taking a pay cut but this is where I see myself: Being able to educate patients. I am so excited. I will let you know how it goes.
  10. I took a phlebetomy course before I started nursing school. We practiced on a fake arm and on each other. After that I went did clinical hours and had to have minimum #100 sticks. Honestly, you can do this on the floor. Why pay for it? There were nurses when I started that did not know how to draw blood and they learned because they worked night shift. During daylight, the lab would come and draw. You will be fine. You learned to put IV's in. I hope this helps.
  11. I have an upcoming interview over the phone. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice or what to expect. I have a 2 month old baby and this would be perfect to work from home. I could keep an eye on the sitter and know my baby is only a few feet away! I really want this job. I can't bear to work night shift anymore.
  12. I have a phone interview for Mckesson for Disease Management. Any tips for the interview?
  13. I have a phone interview and was wondering if I can get some pointers on what to expect. It is for Disease Management. Thanks!
