Do nurses get mad when..
If they feel well enough to have a party then it's time to go home. 2 maybe 3 visitors, no small children for longer than 10 minutes. I'm strict but after all the patient is there to get better. I have run people off and afterwards been told by the patient, Thank You I really did feel up to entertaining. Come to think of it I don't think a patient has ever complained about their loved ones being run off.

Excelsior Grading?
What math did you do? Some of the questions are "experimental" and don't count. But how would you know which you got right and which you got wrong. All that matters is the letter grade.

Two national organizations accredit nursing education programs. The National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) accredits all types of nursing education programs including master's, baccalaureate, associate's and diploma. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits programs that offer only master's and baccalaureate level nursing degrees. Having one of these accreditations is what you are looking for.

I have heard that they are not accredited, that would be the first thing I would check. If they're not, don't bother.

Nurses on Antidepressants?
Medications work differently on different people and people have various types of depression and anxiety disorders. Only a qualified physican can tell you which one is best for you. It doesn't matter which ones anyone else takes unless they are closely related to you.

- Nurses on Antidepressants?
Honey it doesn't matter if a person is a nurse, teacher, secretary, or whatever, if you need SSRI's to function normally then you take them. It's pretty simple really. You need to see a physician (psychiatrist) qualified to diagnose your mental health issues and prescribe the correct medication. Skip the PCP.- 21 SATA questions on my NCLEX!
It does not matter one ioda how many questions you got or what kind of questions you got. The BON will just tell you to sit tight and wait for your results. Good Luck!- The personal questions patients ask - sorry need to vent
My Mom has an accent but has been here for 35 years. People ask her on a daily basis "where are you from"? She says "Atlanta, why do you ask"? She lives in Atlanta. That pretty much stops it.- LPNs Supervising RNs
I wasn't taught leadership skills in nursing school. I am an RN. I learned leadership on the job. My assessment skills learned in school were basic and honed on the job.- LPNs Supervising RNs
You have to realize that you are in the present, 2008, this is not "back in the day" LPN's are well trained, capable of doing charge in LTC, knowledgeable and quite capable of critical thinking. I think you are judging this nurse solely on the fact that she is an LPN rather than an RN. It is compassion and experience that a nurse possesses that makes her a good nurse not the initials behind her name. While I agree there has to be guidelines that seperate LPN's and RN's such as LPN's not being allowed to do charge in a hospital, not that they are not capable but in LTC LPN's in charge are certainly the acception not the exception. You may need adjust you attitude. In case you're wondering I am an RN and proud of it - Nurses on Antidepressants?
